In Tuesdayâs elections, voters rejected recreational marijuana, transgender rights, and illegal-immigrant sanctuaries; they reacted equivocally to gun-control arguments; and they handed a surprise victory to a Republican gubernatorial candidate who emphasized his opposition to gay marriage.
Democrats have become increasingly assertive in taking liberal social positions in recent years, believing that they enjoy majority support and even seeking to turn abortion and gay rights into electoral wedges against Republicans. But Tuesdayâs resultsâand the broader trend of recent elections that have been generally disastrous for Democrats not named Barack Obamaâcall that view into question. Indeed, they suggest that the left has misread the electorateâs enthusiasm for social change, inviting a backlash from mainstream voters invested in the status quo.
Consider these results:
*Ohio voters rejected a ballot initiative to legalize recreational marijuana by a 30-point margin.
*Voters in Houstonâa strongly Democratic cityârejected by a 20-point margin a nondiscrimination ordinance that opponents said would lead to âmen in womenâs bathrooms.â
*The San Francisco sheriff who had defended the cityâs sanctuary policy after a sensational murder by an illegal immigrant was voted out.
*Two Republican state senate candidates in Virginia were targeted by Everytown for Gun Safety, former New York Mayor Mike Bloombergâs gun-control group. One won and one lost, leaving the chamber in GOP hands. . .

Also.....If the government schools collapsed there would be no government schools for the army to force Christians and conservatives to use.
Finally!....No!...Homeschooling is **not** a hurdle for anyone looking to go to college. The most prestigious colleges seek homeschoolers. Homeschoolers have a proven record ( on average) for very high scholastic achievement and are well known for being “low maintenance” students with little “drama” in their lives.
My own children entered college at the ages of 13, 12, and 13. All finished their general college courses and Calculus III by the age of 15. The two younger finished a B.S. in mathematics at the age of 18. One of these had a masters in math by 20. The oldest was a highly ranked athlete but still managed to earn a masters in accounting at a typical age.
The worst mistakes often are made when people do not have all the information or the wrong information.
The Marxists have certainly abolished education in the government schools. In its place is a Potemkin village that resembles education but is merely non-stop indoctrination.
A silent majority rose up in 1980 and regained control.
............
I think that will happen again in 2016.
However, much of what reagan did was shallow and undone later. the direction of the country reverted to what it had been going in the 60’s and 70’s. more slowly under the bushes and faster under clinton and obama. but always the direction was the same.
if the coming conservative control does not do fundamental cultural transformation that changes the other cultural institutions—when the pubbies lose power—which they will in time—the direction of culture will revert to it previous direction.
And what have you done to stop it or counteract it?
Yep. They are running the table. They have entertainment, education, and now religion.
Liberals have won the Culture War thus far.
There is a growing backlash and fear among college educators about homeschooled kids. My wife’s family has a couple of professors, and they have talked about how the new Common Core standards are going to put barriers for home schooled kids. They have also talked that many colleges they know (Big 10 school) do not want a large amount of home schooled kids. Simply put, they view them as “traitors”.
That and I have heard many politicians threaten to ticket the kids and parent for truancy, which hasn’t happened yet to my knowledge. There is a political theory gaining ground that you must either force kids in the private schools to go to public school to limit “privilege”, or make the private schools the same as the public schools. My wife is a teacher, and they get mailings all the time demanding that they “talk” to their neighbors about being supportive of the community and demand the closing of private schools.
BTW, we send our daughter to a private school.
Remember the ending hasn't been written yet,
(excerpt) "I wonder what sort of a tale we've fallen into?" So do I.
Have your read the book, “The Tipping Point”? Seemingly intractable institutions can lose their legitimacy almost overnight. I am doing my part right here on Free Republic, on other forums, and on social media.
An idea is the most powerful thing in the universe. That we exist at all began as an idea in the mind of God.
Wow!
These people are evil. They **are** Marxists. It does not matter how many times they say they are not.
