Two debates tonight on CNBC live from the Coors Event Center at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
The 'kids table' started just after 6 p.m. EDT with Sen. Lindsey Graham (SC), Gov. Bobby Jindal (LA), former Gov. George Pataki (NY), and former Sen. Rick Santorum (PA).
The main event at 8 p.m. EDT will feature Donald Trump (NY), Dr. Ben Carson (Fl), Sen. Marco Rubio (FL), former Gov. Jeb Bush (FL), Carly Fiorina (CA), Sen. Ted Cruz (TX), former Gov. Mike Huckabee (AR), Gov. Chris Christie (NJ), Gov. John Kasich (OH), and Sen. Rand Paul (KY).
Moderators for both debates are: John Harwood, Carl Quintanilla, and Becky Quick.
The Republican party will never allow conservatives to moderate because the rinos are to corrupt to allow that! Corruption will eventually destroy our country, just like the great Roman Empire!
Awesome!!! Hope it works!
Yeah I even read some of them...Nice work from his well paid staffers, but there is no track record of his ever caring about these issues before.
This is a huge risk you take when you support a nonpolitical outsider. We jumped that shark once before in my lifetime when Ross Perot shook up a election. We managed to jump back and the mistake was never made.
While I like trump personally, and most all of the business side information I have come across is respectable, a president has to run a government the size of the US, enact as best he can his campaign promises and at the same time lead in foreign policy, domestic policy, and the social compact of a country of cats who don’t lead or follow easily.
This requires a in depth working knowledge of government and IMO a understanding of our founding in a definitive way where you are not learning but teaching.
I just don’t see any of that.
What I see is that his immigration policy statements have bought him a seat at the big game. But I don’t see anything else of note..other than he’s purportedly a nice guy.
If you outlaw PACS then you are outlawing some political free speech.
Now if you had an honest media, you would have PACs that are a lot more accountable.
I did like Rubio's statement that the mainstream media is Hillary's super PAC. So true.
Yup.
Yeh, I’m a liberal. That’s why I support the most Constitutional, Conservative candidate running.
whatever. Get lost.
BUSH is finished. Did I put a period on that? I think so. :)
Trump and Cruz did a great job tonight.
I loved Huck's refusal to go after Trump too.
No, your argument was a straw man argument. Presidential debates are not the place for constitutional debates, but for policy debates. And you failed to name any candidates who provided us with wisdom concerning the constitution tonight. Maybe Cruz said something, but if so, it was very brief.
Name some of the great constitutional discussions from any past presidential debates.
No need to get personal with the poster.
I am in complete agreement with him and I left that goobermint education in 1969. so how do you explain that?
Was that a misspelling? Instead of “parties” it should be “panties”.
Was that a misspelling? Instead of “parties” it should be “panties”.
We need to get more of these pretenders off the stage so he gets more at bats.
To be clear, my problem wasn’t with what was said, it was with how it was said.
I personally, don’t want a president that is willing to be divisive, mean, verbally attacking, regardless of whether tey are right or not, there is a better way of making a point, without being a dick about it.
And I don’t buy for one minute, that it’s just his campaign style, he’s different when he’s making a deal. BS. EVERYTHING I’ve seen of Trump, screams that is how he is, ALL the time.
As well, I loathe the arrogance and narcissism of Obama. I loathe that he just does whatever he feels he wants to do, at his whim, laws/rules be damned. I see the same when I see Trump. I just do. I can’t get past that. Apparently others can, but it baffles me beyond belief.
In depth?
You mean lobbyists bribing lawmakers and congressional leadership using committee assignments or threats in order to get legislation passed? What's magical about that?
I don't think he mentioned it tonight.
And it is a straw man argument, which is why I ignored itâ¦â¦..
If that’s all it is to you, then you have some learning to do as well.
Trump probably understands government more than others just from the other side. He's had to deal with all the regulations & bureaucracy on a daily basis. I'm willing to bet he's been to more foreign countries and interacted with more than others on stage. He is definitely the only candidate with the financial creds to get us out of this hole.
I don't see how being a governor or even a senator provides the experience to run a country. If anything, they're just more enmeshed in big government solutions.
“Ignore my posts then. Sheesh”
I know I certainly will.
Watching debate now on DVR, quite painful...
Huckabee said that deciding how much $$$ that SS beneficiaries get from government taken from us taxpayers is none of the governments business.
That makes perfect sense.
Huckster-berry, if government was not involved, how would the retired get parts of our paychecks??
Are you even reading my posts? Or are you just seeing I don’t like Trump and putting a label on me that I’m not “your brand” of conservatism?
I’m not here to fight with other FReepers. That’s stupid. You like your guy. I like Cruz. I’m not trying to tell you not to like who you do. I would expect the same courtesy. And I most certainly do not have to prove my “conservatism” to a bunch of Trumpbots.
