Two debates tonight on CNBC live from the Coors Event Center at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
The 'kids table' started just after 6 p.m. EDT with Sen. Lindsey Graham (SC), Gov. Bobby Jindal (LA), former Gov. George Pataki (NY), and former Sen. Rick Santorum (PA).
The main event at 8 p.m. EDT will feature Donald Trump (NY), Dr. Ben Carson (Fl), Sen. Marco Rubio (FL), former Gov. Jeb Bush (FL), Carly Fiorina (CA), Sen. Ted Cruz (TX), former Gov. Mike Huckabee (AR), Gov. Chris Christie (NJ), Gov. John Kasich (OH), and Sen. Rand Paul (KY).
Moderators for both debates are: John Harwood, Carl Quintanilla, and Becky Quick.
You’re 100% right!! Trump calls it, again!!
It can be said lots of times, as Fiorina actually pointed out tonight in the debate, it’s been discussed for decades.
Talk is cheap. It’s what is being done about it, that’s the question.
Drudge poll....
TRUMP 63.18% (90,767 votes)
CRUZ 16.85% (24,208 votes)
Everyone else....go home! (My addition :)
Wow. To think that the Constitution is a straw man argument.
No wonder our country is going down the tubes when people stop caring about how important the Constitution is, AND how very much relevant it is in a PRESIDENTIAL debate, to find out how much a candidate knows and will take his oath to the Constitution seriously.
Come on....really?
Hell’s bells we already know all that. Can you read?
We were suppose to be talking about Trump’s policy and the future of STANDARDS. You may be one of those so intelligent with whom communicating a point is virtually impossible.
I give up. Vote for Levin. I like him a lot also.
You are aware that he has published policy papers on immigration and taxes (IIRC).
Yes, Trump uses generalities which can be annoying but what is the alternative? Polished, rehearsed bullcrap from career politicians who do SQUAT when elected.
You possibly cannot be done yet. 3 replies to one post?
You are a liberal. Just admit it.
TIMSS results show our kids in calculus and physics-the highest math and science classes in high school - still perform last and near-last, respectively.
But I don’t doubt what you say either. just like contractors hire illegals because they work for less.
To be fair, many of the pioneers in America’s rocket industry spoke with a heavy accent.
Cruz beat us to it! On Hannity he suggested a debate with Hannity, Rush, and Levine. Hannity was all for it, said he’d talk to Reince Priebus.
Sorry, Linda, you can’t steal Rand’s voters. Cruz surgically stole ALL of them tonight and Rand diidn’t even notice. Absolutely brilliant execution by Ted. Rand and Jeb aren’t long in this race, with Rubio, Carly and Christie inheriting the latter’s voters. The other big loser was the pre-crowned new leader. Other than on the gay gotcha Carson was completely forgettable. Media hasn’t noticed that in Cruz slamming them over the wall he started by defending his fellow candidates and Cruz didn’t criticize any of them all debate. I bet some in the I like Ben because he’s nice crowd did notice this.
I was cheering out loud!
I have a real problem with politicians leaving office and going to work with Lehman Brothers to pad their bank accounts which is exactly what Kasich did.
What did he do while in office to "earn" that paycheck and what did he promise to do in the future?
I wish Christie had added something about filling out a Final Four bracket on ESPN seven years in a row.
My husband asks me why I waste time watching the debates when we all know, it’s biased, the moderators do their best to attack and demean with leading biased questions, etc. It’s theater. It’s a circus. Yadda yadda.
Well, I believe in the content of one’s character. And I think that’s the main reason to watch the debates (save for some entertainment)...is to see the character of these candidates. How they handle each other, how they handle the biased media, how they handle themselves. I think it shows a great deal how they would conduct thenmselves in office, under pressure, with allies and other leaders.
I know I’m not alone in that thought, because many comments on here tonight speak to just that. And it matters greatly to me, that our next president put class, dignity, honor, respect and great character back to the tarnished office that Obama has left in ruins. It should matter to more people, IMO.
Lucky is certainly a product of the trusty American public school system. Liberal runs in them thar’ veins. lol.
Educated in the system of Revised History 101, critically left leaning and feminized, self centered, and a push over for the politically correct and related media sound bite culture.
LOL! I am ever so grateful to God I was not.
Me too. I remember laughing and pumping my fist when the guys in the studio were trying to dial him back and he was having none of it.
That is the law.
The problem with what is going in is seemingly overt abuse and illegality in using it.
A few well placed prosecutions would end this abuse.
From Trump's (Session's) immigration position paper:
Increase prevailing wage for H-1Bs. We graduate two times more Americans with STEM degrees each year than find STEM jobs, yet as much as two-thirds of entry-level hiring for IT jobs is accomplished through the H-1B program. More than half of H-1B visas are issued for the program's lowest allowable wage level, and more than eighty percent for its bottom two. Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry-level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the U.S....
It sounds like companies are twisting the "prevailing wage" definition? Personally, I've suggested on other threads that employers should be required to pay foreign workers they bring in a 20% surcharge. And then, as you say, the law must be enforced to make sure the employers comply.
I agree for the most part but I don’t think that means a candidate should be a punching bag. We’ll be in trouble if we get a President who says “May I have another, Sir”.
Trump would have a problem with you, too. You would be fired, sorry to say. High strung, self righteous and inculturated in utopia thinking while we are trying to survive ISIS coming.
Promise you will stay away from the fox holes of patriots. Look for something comfortable underground with the starlets for Hillary crowd.
