I never expected to write these words, but I miss Mitt Romney.
Last Wednesday, the day the front-runner for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination was in New Hampshire alleging that Syrian refugees fleeing for their lives may actually be clandestine terrorists, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee was in Washington, talking sense.
"Donald Trump will not be the nominee," Romney told a group of business-school students at Georgetown University. And why won't Trump, who when he isn't besmirching Syrian refugees as terrorists is maligning Mexican immigrants as rapists, get the nod? Because, Romney said, "when all is said and done, the American people usually do the right thing."
The Washington Post's Philip Rucker recorded Romney's categorical prediction, and his rationale. "I know there's some skunks in any endeavor business, politics and they get most of the visibility, but there are also some really good people," Romney said. "The American people are a very good people and by and large find people of similar character to elect to the highest office in the land."(continued)

Bon Appetit, Dana.
Ahem... Clinton and Obama have been in the White House for fifteen of the last 23 years...
Mayo or mustard?
Hey Dana...your wet dreams are not reality" |
I don’t like Dana. She is generally wrong on pretty much everything..
That’s what he needs to say to these ******.
She is a he.
Dana Milbank is a male AFAIK.
So, Americans elect someone of similar character? Excuse me? I have nothing in common with the character in the WH. I guess people didn’t identify enough with Romney’s character to elect him? These people are delusional. So, Donald isn’t good enough to be President? Go away Mittens - your time to shine has long passed. At least Donald doesn’t belong to a cult and wear magic underwear, In fact, go away GOPE - we’ve had enough of all of you.
Put it on something shaped like a penis, and Dana Milbank will eat anything...
So they’re dragging out the 2 losers - McCain and Romney to disparage Trump.
McCain complains Trump doesn’t know what he’s talking about that Russia is hitting the CIA trained Free Syrian Army. Are we sure who the FSA really is??? Our track record isn’t good on this. And if they’re so innocent then why aren’t all these “refugees” who are “fleeing for their lives” staying to help fight for to free their country?
And then Romney saying that the American people always do the right thing and so won’t elect Trump. Is Mitt saying that re-electing the reprobate Obama and not himself was the right thing?
Trump isn’t perfect...but after the “blank slate” Obama he will be a zillion times better.
He’s a girly man. A sissy liberal.
Print it on a cake and mail it to him.
Support Trump or not (and I do), honest to God, I have just as much desire to see him win to cram these people’s words right back down their throats, as I do to see him implement good policy.
I cannot in my lifetime remember a man being so vilified in the media.
What’s more I look back at John McCain, a man with more of a lifetime of bad baggage than any politician I can think of, and he was actually being championed by the MSM about this time in 2011.
Further, the GOPe was silent. The blogospehre was evenly split. The pundits were satisfied with the situation.
Along comes a guy that champions Conservatism, and whoa Nelly, stop we need to push Trump off the back.
Donald Trump, bud, you amaze me. Kudos.
Dana. Put a giant sized cork in it.
Where’s the brilliance in changing ten words here and there and publishing yet another blast at Trump?
Is there an original thinking writer left in this nation?
If they knew anything about people who are likely to vote for Trump they would not bring out these two. How bout the guy who compared us to George Wallace supporters? Everybody gotta say somethin, even if it makes no sense at all. It’s how they earn their living.
I looked up Dana’s photo. She looks somewhat man-ish.
Can you imagine the establishmedia saying anything like this about any other candidate?
Pray America wakes
I know.
