Senators are calling on President Obama to clarify his strategy on Syria, after Russia ignored repeated U.S. warnings and began bombing rebel groups there this week to shore up the Assad regime.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), one of the administration's biggest foreign policy critics, called on the administration to take stronger measures.
"We should establish no-fly zones in Syria and make it clear that any aircraft that enters those zones will be shot down,” he said.

Russia on the other hand has been an ally of Syria for over 50 years....and Russia was also responsible for Assad giving up his chem weapons.....which is why we went into Syria in the first place.

The UN would never back this given the involvement of Russia China and Iran in backing security operations requested by the sovereign government of Syria. Putin is on firm legal ground .... Obama has nothing. Just because he doesn’t like or want an Assad government doesn’t mean it isn’t still the legal Syrian government.
If obama does yet another rogue international war, ala Libya, he just might mess up his chances to rule the UN after he finishes ruining the U.S.
They mention Russia....But how about Obama’s new BFF...Iran. They’re putting boots on the ground in Syria.

It’s not even a true civil war. Many of the so- called “ free Syrian army” islamist splinter groups have been trained, armed , and imported from abroad by the CIA . This is not an indigenous uprising, it is a fomented Sunni revolt against secular government.
The only no fly zone Obama has supported is around his face.He has very bad breath because of septal perforation from cocaine use. And he has become Lord of the Flies.

The “rebels” in Syria are Al Qaeda/ISIS.
Benghazi was all about sending arms to Al Qaeda/ISIS in Syria, illegally, unconstitutionally.
Remember the Iran/Contra deal that proved no wrong doing against Reagan but that the stupid liberals keep spewing on and on about? This is Iran/Contra times 100 and the arming was to support the terrorists we are still at war with, not those who were trying to free themselves from communist tyranny.

I never thought I’d say it, but I’m on Russia’s side with this particular fight.
And yes, I know that Putin is evil and that Russia is now the neo-USSR and that his endgame is for his own benefit and that his true motive is unfettered control of the energy supply into Europe and that’s why he is helping Syria. I know all that. And he does need to be stopped by skillful statesmanship.
But Obama’s goal is just the same as Putin’s: destroy America.
If we enter a hot war with China and Russia, Obama will use it as an opportunity to surrender. That would be the greatest slap in America’s face he could offer. He’d force America to eat a full defeat and then he’d ensure that the Treaty of Surrender completely neutered America.

There is not going to be a no fly zone over a sovereign country unless they agree. What the hell are people thinking. Assad invited Russia. He did not invite us. Get out , stay out and keep posted on the number of dead and dieing ISIS.

A no fly zone is not a new idea. As I am sure you aware, Assad has been murdering Syrians with barrel bombs for quiet some time.
