Billionaire investor Carl Icahn told Bloomberg News that he's endorsing Donald Trump because he's the sort of leader the US needs at this time.
"I disagree on certain points I dont want to get into, Im sure those can be worked out, but the basic thing is, you need somebody that can get things going in Congress, and I think he can do it. You need somebody that understands business, and I think he understands it," Icahn told Bloomberg.
Shortly after Trump launched his campaign, the candidate appeared on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." On the show, the billionaire real-estate magnate said that he knows "the smartest guys on Wall Street" and the "best negotiators."

Icahn has way more money than Trump. Maybe he should be running for the Republican nomination instead.
Well there you go, from one of the best of the best...
If Trump is bringing in people like this, you know we are going to get down to business and Make America Great Again....
This guy doesn’t play around.....
It’s called name recognition. It’s called popular appeal. Icahn is a swell guy, but do you really think he could generate 20 to 30,000 people (on average) at campaign stops, rallies, etc, as does Trump?
Of course.
Typically when a new president is elected, his flacks and cronies fill most of the appointed positions and it's just more of the same. Looking at Trump's record in business, he does not appear to tolerate mediocrity and is not afraid to fire people who don't meet expectations. Trump will bring a meritocracy as opposed to a bureaucratic kakistocracy to D.C.

I’m more interested in them exposing the cooked books for every dept. from the past 7 years.
¿Yeb? must have tossed his rattle right out of the pram when he heard this news.
“I’d like guys like Jack Welch. I like guys like Henry Kravis. I’d love to bring my friend Carl Icahn, you know, I mean, we have people that are great...we don’t use them, Joe. We use people who are soft, and weak, and frankly, stupid and incompetent.”
Indeed. Turn ‘em out.
Icahn had already thrown in with Trump. Why is this news?
If you have been paying attention to Trump (he doesn’t like liars) you won’t have a problem hearing about anything when he takes over...
If the ‘media’ doesn’t tell you, he will...on twitter, facebook, T.V. and if he has to, he’ll buy a newspaper outfit to let you know...
We are going to be knowing EVERYTHING Trump does, he’ll let us know....
[Billionaire Investor Carl]Icahn: Obama Would Be a Terrible President

Carl Icahn, the billionaire investor best known for shaking up public companies, says he is very concerned about the Democratic frontrunner, Barack Obama.
I personally think he would be a terrible president,’’ Icahn told investors in New York, according to wire reports.
Icahn thinks a President Obama would increase spending dramatically, something he says the country can’t afford right now.
An Obama spending spree and the resulting tax hikes to pay for it would kill the dollar and result in higher interest rates, Icahn warned. I don’t think Obama really understands economics,’’ Icahn said.
Obama also would take office with a Democratic majority in the Congress, clearing the way for unchecked spending, Icahn said.
It would be devastating,’’ Icahn said. Then you couldn’t stop runaway legislation.’’

Birds of a feather flock together. Should there be any doubt now about Trumps allegiances?
Nobody can spot money-laundering, and outright theft of
tax dollars than those accustomed to scrutinizing business contracts.
We also need a thorough investigation WRT the $6 billion
missing from the State Dept under Hillary's watch.
Trump/Icahn might start w/ the WH wire-transfers from Valerie's office.
Well, he called that one right in 2008...
Congratulations Trumpster! May The Donald continue to impress and may his opponents continue to implode.
Wall Street hates Trump, but his tax plan does looks good.

Donald Trump plans to unveil an ambitious tax plan that would eliminate income taxes for millions, lower the tax rate on all businesses and change tax treatment of companies overseas earnings.
Donald Trump is set to release a tax plan Monday that calls for major reductions in levies on middle-income and poor payers, while increasing taxes on the wealthy and reining in companies that pay less in taxes by moving their headquarters overseas.
The plan will offer a major tax reduction for almost all citizens and help stimulate business in the U.S. again, the Republican candidates campaign said Sunday.
The GOP presidential front-runner is also expected to call for the poorest filers to pay no federal taxes at all while also recommending that corporate levies be reduced.
In an interview set to air on CBSs 60 Minutes Sunday night, Mr. Trump shrugged off questions as to how he would pay for the tax plan and what kind of Republican presidential candidate would recommend that the wealthy pay more to the government.
Some very wealthy are going to be raised. Some people that are getting unfair deductions are going to be raised, Mr. Trump told CBS anchor Scott Pelley about his tax plan, according to a transcript. But overall its going to be a tremendous incentive to grow the economy and were going to take in the same or more money.
The tax plan will be the second policy platform released by Mr. Trump in the more than three months since he declared his candidacy. He released a six-page paper outlining his hard-line stance on immigration last month.
This is news?
Trump openly said he would choose Icahn as his Treasury Secretary if he wins the Presidency. Icahn accepted.
