A Morning Consult poll, released Friday, surveyed 504 registered voters who watched Wednesdays Republican primary debate and has only good news for Republican frontrunner Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina. While the polls sample size is small (with a 4.4% margin of error), the polls trend is worth noting.
In this same poll, prior to Wednesday nights debate, Trump sat at 33% support. Dr. Ben Carson sat in second place with 17% support. Today Trump enjoys 36% support. Carson is still in second place but with just 12% support.
Trumps lead increased from +16 points to +24%. Thats an +8% jump.
With their shared status as outsiders, it appears as though Carsons support went to Fiorina. Prior to the debate the former-Hewlett Packard CEO had just 3% support. She now sits in third place with 10%, only -2 points behind second place Carson.

The debate wee designed that Trump would be involved.with all the sophomoric battles first. They used all.hus time and quesgiin during that period. When it turned serious toward issues he was ignored. Then they xoukd claim he had nothing to say about the issues. Their (gopee) candidates were allowed.to.shine during this section. See how qualified and smart they are!
Don’t be fooled. Master manipulation at its best
I called it. I said Carly would take away votes from Carson...and she did!
Trunp is between 32 and 40. Carson is between 8 and 16. Fiorina is between 6 and 14. I think Trump’s lead is outside the MOE
In addition to collecting bottles and cans to redeem the deposits for gasoline, Jim Gilmore did not qualify for even the Kiddie Table debate. He’s “support” was less than the floor level required.
20% looking for a home.
But but but Mister Media scumbag you told us Fio-rino and Uncle Ben would jump over Trump. You wouldn’t lie would you Mister Media scumbag.
Nope, there would be no attacks on Trump if he really lost out to Carly at the debate. He increased his numbers. That is why this all out media attack. Hillary and Jeb of the Uniparty are behind it.
Trump is going to have them for lunch!
I can’t wait for the response.
Carly doesn’t believe America is a nation of laws...

This poll looks right.
Trump obviously won the debate and a bump was expected.
Fiorina also got a bump. It won’t be enough to threaten Trump but might be enough to put Jeb out of his misery.
The pundits thought they were hurting Trump by boosting Fiorina but not a single Trump supporter switched to her. Trump wins again.
I do appreciate his credentials, his resume and his extraordinary accomplishments. I know I am a out of control when it comes to science, research, microscopes, and probes and “fiddling” with the innocent, who are butchered and aborted, even not quite dead. (Seriously, I get faint thinking about the whole thing, start to finish, even including the comparative tissue.)
But, yes, I get your point.
That was my reaction, too. Outsiders got more support, but with some of Carson's vote going to Fiona, Trumps lead increased. All of that not-a-politician vote logically will find its way to Trump.
Among the establishment pols, Rubio had the best debate, by far. And his support though low still went up.
The other good news....voters really do not like Tippy-Toes Jeb.
If you lost your job, and the boss who fired you went on to run for President, and the opposition party approached you and asked you to star in an attack ad running against him (or her), would you say no?
I’m willing to bet very few people would.
After Trump becomes president in 2017, all of these rectums will have to learn how to say, "Do you want fries with your order, Sir/Maam/it?"
All the way back to Monday the media was excited about Carson's closing the gap on Trump. Funny, that poll's 6% MOE didn't concern them.
Since Trump garners a lot of his support from self-identified indy Republican leaners who can vote in many states' open primaries, watch for the GOP-e pollsters to sample only registered Republicans during Carly-flavor-of-the-week-Fiorina's rise.
Not to bore everyone, but the media is intent on concealing that no point in a confidence interval is any more likely than any other point. So, 20% support with a MOE of +/-4% means it is just as likley 16% - or 24% - as it is the 20% midpoint. The midpoint is stated merely for convenience.
The media's illiteracy is revealed when they say, "Candidate X rose from 20% last week to 22% this week."
Uhhh, no they didn't. Or, if they did, statistical methods cannot make such a determination (short of an impractically huge sample size).
Watch for the sample population trick I warned about above.
Sample question: "Trump called you a fool this last week. Why is that not true and what are you going to do about sticking it to him in response?"
Not exactly journalistic objectivity on the part of CNN.
Bush is just the Mexican, low carb version of Christie...
