Jindal: Trump is a madman who must be stopped- (Jindals's Op-Ed)
CNN ^ | 9/15/15 | Gov. Jindal

Posted on 09/15/2015 2:42:07 PM PDT by VinL

President Trump today announced that the first season of "The Apprentice: White House Edition" will air on CBS this fall. Contestants, including Gary Busey, Ted Cruz and Kanye West, will vie for Cabinet positions. The announcement came as the newly renamed "Hair Force One" touched down in South Dakota for the unveiling of President Trump's face on Mount Rushmore. Meanwhile, first lady Melania had reason to celebrate as her White House-branded perfume, Trump, by Trump, hit Macy's shelves ...

No, this is not a story from The Onion. It's a vision of our future. The only people who would enjoy a Trump presidency are Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert. The jokes write themselves...

The problem with Donald Trump is that he will never be president. His nomination as the Republican candidate would gift the White House to Hillary Clinton. He would self-destruct in a general election. In fact, he may be Clinton's only hope. And even if he were somehow to win, we have no idea how he would govern.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a Donald Trump. I love the idea of an outsider who doesn't care about political correctness and who says things you're not supposed to. Unfortunately, Donald Trump is the wrong messenger. .....

His problem with Washington isn't big government, it's that he's not running it. He's not liberal, moderate or conservative. He's not Republican or Democrat. Donald Trump is for Donald Trump. He believes only in himself.

Like all narcissists, Trump is insecure, weak and afraid of being exposed. That's why he's constantly telling us how big and rich and great he is, and how insignificant everyone else is.

Like a kid in a superhero costume, (snip)

“What a coincidence— I was under evaluation in a mental facility for 30 years!”

Now, I remember I did your psychological evaluation. :o) Glad you got out or are you still there? Remember, those dancing girls you saw are not real. :o)

I'll bet Vin is still ticked off about that.

The one who sounds like a madman, as well as desperate, is Jindal. He should not be running. Under the Constitution he does not qualify.

I’m hearing the words of Gov. William Scranton of Pennsylvania when it appeared that Goldwater had the Republican nomination locked up. In the end, the party establishment simply gave up on Goldwater after the convention and spent their money trying to save their share in Congress. Even that didn’t work.

Ohhhhhh.....truth? I still like to visit on Thursdays– and I’m sure you know why. Thursday is roasted chicken and butterscotch pudding, and Harvey the Pooka still does his stand up routine.

As for the existence of those dancing girls, I see you’re still intent on raining on my parade. You just never understood that some very sane and lucid people merely prefer a good delusion as against reality —— I guess that’s why you don’t understand the Trump folks.

Now, ladies, if you’ll forgive, it’s time for their encore.

Jindal deserves attention, he’s one of the better choices. Do we accuse Trump of attention whoring whenever he makes a spectacle of himself? No? Why the double standard then? Jindal’s comments here are extremely valid.

I don’t think Trump is a “madman” but a raging narcissist? OBVIOUSLY. Anyone that can’t see that has scales over their eyes.

Conservative? I very much doubt it. Our nominee? I sure hope not cause I think he’d be a nasty RINO, provided he would win, which I doubt.

I think Jindal is right about Cruz’s strategy, which may be a smart one, though cynical, I have more respect for those who challenge Trump’s false conservatism.

I’m not a fan of Starchild (Rand) but what he just said about Trump on the Kelly file was on the money.

Naaaah. He wants to kill two birds with one stone. Take down Trump while taking a side swipe at Cruz. Can't blame the guy too much. He is polling less than 1 %. Desperate times call for desperate measures. He should be out of the race by 3 months if he is lucky.

Poor Jindal. What’s he doing, anyway? He needs to learn to play an instrument.

Well, it’s either Trump or it’s Hillary, because no one else on the Repub side would dare fight her.

Dayuuummm.

I’m all for Cruz and will absolutely vote for Cruz one way or the other either in the Primary or write-in in the general if I have to depending on the nominee, but wow.

In ANY other reality, Jindal’s article would be praised out here because it’s the truth. Everything he said about Trump is the truth. It is undeniable fact backed up by every form of evidence imaginable.

But he gets it wrong on why the attacks by Bush, Paul, and Perry backfired. The base gives no credibility to RINOs attacking others for not being conservative enough. That’s why the attacks have no teeth. It takes a Ted Cruz with a conservative backbone and the resume to back it up to go after Trump. And Cruz won’t lay a hand on Trump, unfortunately because of what Bobby said is true.

Unfortunately, the Trump worship to the cliff has gotten so bad, even Jindal now is called out as being GOPe. Give me a break.

I get why Jindal is going after Cruz. He has to to fight for those votes. But I’ll admit Jindal makes a point that I have to agree with. If Ted Cruz had started laying down the “campaign conservative” rhetoric routinely on the Trump early on, this whole Trump phenomenon could have been avoided.

As a conservative, I feel cheated that to this point, Cruz was denied the opportunity to let the strength of a conservative message carry the day and battle the GOPe and knock out Jeb which I fully believe Cruz would have done with ease. But there were too many cowards, too many low information voters, too many people afraid that conservativism on its principles can’t win on it’s own anymore that their willing to throw away their beliefs to support a guy that has none (Trump).

“No one is supporting this guy just because of a TV show. As long as his opposition keeps repeating that, then the further they will sink. “

Well said, and worth repeating.

I truly don’t believe any of the polls. The most important
aspect of today’s CBS poll, imo, was that 63% of the respondents said it was too early to decide.

But, for argument, let’s accept the polls.

With Trump out of the race, Cruz had to beat Bush, Walker, Rubio, Paul, Perry, Huckabee, et al-——

With Trump in the race, those guys are currently in single digits. And for the ones who don’t show well in Iowa, NH Sc Nev -they’re done.

So, you tell me, what advantage is there for Cruz to go after Trump? Even if he diminishes Trump, then Walker pops up, or Rubio, or Bush, or Carson.

There’s no cowardice here- it’s strategy.

Cruz wants to be top 3 in the 1st four states— then, on March 1, he wants to win Texas and the 7 southern states.
At that point, when he’s on his home turf, Cruz will hopefully have 1 target- Trump- and that’s when he goes after him.

I can say the same (background) and disagree but then again to be professional you’d have to do a more than compile soundbites. Insecure Mr Trump is not.

“I’m not sure I would go quite that far. I don’t trust that he has converted and become a genuine conservative, but I do not think he is a “madman”’

Agreed.
