GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump will deliver an address on national security and veterans' issues from the USS Iowa, a retired battleship, on Sept. 15.
"Donald Trump is a long-standing supporter of veterans and the military and we are honored that he has chosen our organization and event for his major national security address, said Joel Arends, chairman of the Veterans for a Strong America (VSA), in a statement on Thursday announcing the event.

I’ll betcha Obama can’t name 3.....without a teleprompter...
A shame that Iowa could not be taken upriver to that state but even if the river was deep enough all of the bridges would prevent it.
Wisconsin is too big to get through the Seaway locks, too.
He was in military school for several years. Does that count?
What did the USS Iowa have, 16" guns? Ask Hugh Blewitt the length of the guns.
That had to be head crushing loud.
He probably is friends with more generals than 3. I am really warming up to him. He is smart as a whip and knows tons of informed people. In 1980 all made fun of an “actor in the WH”. I would laugh and say that would be helpful in his job. Trump has something that will make him special if he is POTUS also.
Cruz is still my number one.
But, but he didn’t (gasp) know the name of the Quds leader!
But he did know he went to Russia, but that doesn’t count.
“Not sure if youre referring to me as a troll or asking me for directions?”
Good one. LOL
Very nice!
Or the uniparty. That would be the best.
BOOM!!!
The Trumpster is going to raise some hell!!!
Trump 2016 All the way to the Oval Office!!!
I forgot about that (believe that I too made a comment about it also on a thread a few days ago... there’s go my chance to be journalist)
[maybe also something about him never giving free haircuts in prep school?]
The USS Iowa has had both a good and bad history. In WW-II she served in both the Atlantic and Pacific and won battle stars. Recommissioned for the second time during President Reagan’s term, in 1989 an explosion in #2 turret killed 47 men. The original Navy investigation concluded sabotage and blamed a dead sailor who committed suicide by causing the explosion. Further investigation directed by Congress determined the likely cause was gunpowder originally produced in the 1930’s for the projectiles which had become unstable.
After decommissioning a third time the ship was stored with the Naval reserve fleet in upper San Francisco Bay. It was proposed to be a museum ship in San Francisco, but the libs and peaceniks there protested having a warship on display in their city. The controversy was settled with San Pedro south of LA receiving the ship which opened to the public for tours in 2012.
I happened to be listening to Medvedev after Obama’s first election and an elderly lady caller called with concerns about something Robert Reich said that stimulus money needs to be kept away from white male construction workers. Medvedev had not heard this or chose to ignore it and accused the caller of lying and hung up on her. I will never listen to him again.
Are you allowed to make that post?
You're right, a very historic and proud combat history. And a history involving a significant non-combat incident.
I also got the feeling that he thinks he may have gone too far, and how to extract himself without being too obvious. Mark Levin, and old friend of Hewitt, said both Hewitt and Trump are good guys, but also said to know the names of Islamonazis wasn’t as important as knowing they must be gotten rid of, and Trump understands that.
OMG ROFL ROFL
Well, gee, maybe not?
Y’know YOUR post could bring down the whole media, the country, the Constitution...
Let’s ask Matt! (Matt, get a hat Lauer)
(kidding aside, you make my point, VERY WELL)
We all should keep that or a similar reply ready to post on media sites (or should we be graced by them in person)
