The Democratic Party on Friday adopted a call to raise the minimum wage to $15/hr as part of their established party platform heading into the 2016 election season. The move further polarizes the progressive wing of the party by moving them further to the left of both the Republican Party, and corporate centrist Democrats such as Hillary Clinton.
In response to the Democratic Party’s vote, Terrence Wise, a Kansas City, Mo. McDonald’s and Burger King Worker and member of the National Organizing Committee of the Fight for $15, issued the following statement.

That minimum wage adjusted for inflation until today would be nearly $10.00 but naturally, the democrat fascists are appealing to their socialist supporters by going beyond just adjusting for inflation and cost of living which I think would be somewhat reasonable and rational.
Rational if this country still had manufacturing jobs and something like full employment for people with families to support. As things stand now, I don't know that the economy could support even adjusting the minimum wage to be the same as it was in real dollars back then.
Until immigration and crap like the H1-B scam are history, I don't see how small businesses or even franchises can stay in business with a $15.00 minimum wage and I'm not sure they could even support adjusting the minimum wage up to the equivalent of what it was back then, Every teenager who wanted a job could find one back in '64 but now? Anyone over fifty can't find a job if they lose the one they have and most teenagers who try to find jobs can't find one.
So far, Trump is the only one actually addressing the issue. The rest of the pack is just blowing smoke. The democrats aren't winning the support with this they think they will, either. Too many people already had their hours cut because of BarryCare and realize they'd be even worse off if the minimum wage went up.
So, the ever stupid American electorate put Barry in office twice and now we're all munching on the feces sandwich that is the result. So much for democracy as opposed to a Republic.
The last nail in the coffin of the Republic was the 17th Amendment.
