FOX News host Megyn Kelly announced tonight at the end of her show that she will be going on a much needed vacation for the next week-and-a-half.
Don't let the door hit you in the wherever.
Every time a Republican is on a talk show,( any of them), I feel they are interrogated with gotcha questions. Just watch Wallace, Baier and Kelly and see how their body language changes with a Republican. They interrupt all the time and never let the guest finish his/her sentence.
Her “job” was to moderate, not put them on trial. What she was actually trying to do was “prove” to the viewers that the candidate hates gays,is anti-woman, etc etc.
I am sick of it and that’s why Kelly is getting the brunt of this anger.
“Im not understanding the hate....She was tough on a Republican candidate. I believe that she is tough on everybody. If any candidate ( of any political persuasion )cannot withstand tough questioning they should not be president.
The freeper haters arent acting any differently than left wing zealots that have been offended because someone is tough on Obama.
Dont bother with explanations....I get it...its a human nature thing. Haters hate....and if there is nothing to hate...they go looking for something to hate...and convince themselves of their own righteousness.”
I’m going to respond anyway, although ordered not to un a condescending self-righteous way...
She was not ‘tough’. Her questions had little to do with the REAL issues and were making the candidates- especially Trump- defend a personal attack. The questions were asked as straw man arguments, assuming ‘facts’ that had to be defended.
The first question was especially aimed at putting Trump in a bad light - he already said many times he would not rule out running 3rd party yet. So the point of asking it yet again was what? It wasn’t a journalist question to get new information- it had only to be to start the debate putting Trump in a bad light. Then, it actually got worse from there. All very unprofessional.
Will Hillary be asked about her husband’s infidelity and why she put up with it? Then asked that since her husband was impeached for lying, why can we expect her to be honest? Then asked about her Whitewater deals and Vince Foster’s death, making her explain her part? Then about Benghazi and how does it feel to be responsible for an ambassador’s death? Then there’s the emails in her server... All in one debate, one after another?
That was what Trump and some of the other candidates had flung at them.
“If she needs somewhere to lay low my house is available. Its not a huge place so we may have to share a room though. And I have neighbors so not too much talking please.”
That’s mighty noble of you to offer. Who says FReepers aren’t up and coming saints?
We don’t know the full story about what directives the FoxNews people had regarding what kind of questions to ask during the debate. I will give Megyn the benefit of the doubt. Even if she made an unfair mistake, I am not willing to totally write off all the good work she has done to date.
Let’s remember that FoxNews, as well as other conservative outlets such as National Review and the WSJ, have ALL been trying to hurt Donald Trump. Having all our anger directed toward Megyn is not fair.
Yes suddenly in the middle of the week Megyn Crowley just up and goes on vacay. LOL!
I saw her announce it as I had just turned on the TV to catch Trump on Hannity. She was so fakey chirpy about it I figured Ailes told her to take a powder and let things die down.
her ego got the best of her and her looks have got her the jobs she has.
She does not seem too bright and certainly she thinks she is all that with the way she dresses and acts.
I’ve ben out with and met some beautiful women , but when they have opened their mouth with swearing all the time , or I have got to know them after a couple of weeks then those looks become very ugly.
Kelly is a prime of example how she would get looks , but is ugly on the inside.
To be contrary, this might not have to do with Trump or Ailes, but the fact that Megyn’s true mistress, Hillary, is starting to go down in flames. In the next ten days this might escalate and she might not want to have to cover it. Of course it will be there when she comes back (if she comes back), but by then a spin will have been calculated.
“How soon people forget Kellys reporting when Rommey lost the election last time. Kelly was as giddy as ever that night.
For me I was on to her from the day forward.”
And her giddiness talking about the Ivan ‘rape’. She started that segment reasonably, but it quickly deteriorated into there being no doubt that Donald did it. It was a hatchet job if the worst kind.
It's a bit unfair of you to call those of us who disagree with Kelly "haters", then try to dissuade us from responding. So I am going to respond.
Debate moderators should ask tough questions. We agree on that.
But here's where you and I evidently disagree. Tough questions should not be of a personal nature. It's not that those questions are unimportant; they can show a person's character. It's that they can be so easily misinterpreted as to become essentially worthless time-wasters. And that's true of positive personal questions as well.
So if you had time to ask a candidate only one of these three questions, which would it be?:
1. What was your very favorite class in high school?
2. Tell us about a time you lost your temper.
3. How would you reduce the federal deficit?
I'd pick type 3 questions. Kelly, whom I used to admire, picked type 2 questions. I don't "hate" her, but I'm deeply disappointed. She dropped the ball here.
Same here.
“Kelly set out to make Trump a notch in her belt, a pelt on her wall..”
It was made clear before the debate they were going to be vicious. However, it was hris Wallace who made the declaration that he had some “doozies” ready in his questioning. Because she viewed this debate as a career enhancing move for her, do you think it’s possible she was reacting to Wallace’s comments, determined to not let him get the “credit” - and jumping in with something even more obnoxious so the attention would fall on her and not Wallace?
“So do you think it was professional to say to Ted Cruz Any word from God?
Cruz’s answer was brilliant. He avoided saying yes or no, which would’ve been reported in acwaybto make him look crazy or an atheist.
And he showed he truly is religious because God’s word is in the scriptures.
I was impressed.
I agree Kelly still pulls in more viewer then all but BOR. This more is to protect her and give her a little down time. I also agree she was just (gleefully) doing what she was told. Someone is hiding behind Megyn skirt and letting her take all the heat, someone is a coward. Someone is also a fool for not anticipating the backlash. McCain goes after Trump, McCain’s toast. Linda goes after Trump, Linda’s toast. Perry goes after Trump, Perry’s toast. Anyone see a pattern here?
All the media scum are marxists first .they live to spread socialism /communism. that is their main goal in life . that’s why the become reporters or go into the media to brainwash people.
Look at when this moron kelly couldn’t contain her emotions when she was thought she had Trump finished ,look at the pictures of her expressions as if she got everything she ever worked for
True, but it didn’t make Megyn’s question any less insipid.
I liked E.D. Why did they get rid of her?
