We don’t know the full story about what directives the FoxNews people had regarding what kind of questions to ask during the debate. I will give Megyn the benefit of the doubt. Even if she made an unfair mistake, I am not willing to totally write off all the good work she has done to date.
Let’s remember that FoxNews, as well as other conservative outlets such as National Review and the WSJ, have ALL been trying to hurt Donald Trump. Having all our anger directed toward Megyn is not fair.
We do know that the three Fox debate moderators held many planning meeting and spent much time formulating their questions. Megyn bragged and gloated about that many times on her shows before the debate. Chris Wallace tapped on his notebook said he has some "doozies" in there. Even Bret Baier made some remarks.
Those three were all singing the same song on-the-air days before the debate. I guess we don't know if anyone above approved the questions, or if they had authority to decide on their own.
Two things:
WSJ and NR are not reliably conservative; and
Fox had in the past touted itself as "fair and balanced", and "we report, you decide."
That's why there is outrage. Fox for the past ten years was always the one and only place where a conservative point of view could be heard. Now that new leadership has apparently decided to change all that, viewers were taken off guard.
