FOXNEWS SCORES RECORD RATINGS

If Roger Ailes' employees don’t wind up picking the party’s nominee, it won’t be for lack of trying.

-——They went all out to destroy the guy last night——

or, conversely Fox went all to promote the candidates by bringing up weak points for examination and rebuttal.

Bush disappointed me by not flaming out. Neither did he do well, which is a kind of good news.

Rubio is very telegenic, sounds good, not sure if he will move up, but that worries me because I trust him so little. If Jeb stays in, we need Rubio to run him hard in Florida and knock him out there.

I'm not sure Trump did so well as Drudge is saying (it's an online poll), I thought he made some mistakes and did not look good. So far I have enjoyed how he's changed the race, but he fared poorly last night IMHO, was offputting a bit. Did okay, just dropped a bit.

Cruz did well, gave himself an upward trajectory, I like that.

Walker did so so, debates are not his strong suit.

Carson helped himself a lot.

I hat to say it, but Huckaphony did well, of all the people I didn't want to score points, he likely did. He needs to just go away, but now he won't.

I am thinking the GOPe will shift to Kasich now, but we'll see. He did well, although I personally hated his new touchy feely emotional side.

Paul was Paul, okay, showing some of the nutter sides of his dad.

Crispy did okay, I loved the way Paul reminded him of his hug for the bamster. I want him out ASAP, he's just a drag.

I found it good to watch, other than Cruz my faves were Jindal and Fiorina in the first debate. They killed it.

It's a tough venue with this many candidates, clearly it won't consolidate until close to the first real primaries.

We did get a glimpse of how each one looks telegenically, speaks, and handles a tough panel. The panel was tough on everyone, including the RINOs.

What were his tweets?

My wife was really angry at Kelly for doing the gender card thing. Her comment was: "Here we are on the verge of losing our country and she's offensively bringing up gender issues and stupid democrat talking points? I'm ashamed of Megyn Kelly and what she's doing with this crap."

She was pretty upset and emotional, I think a lot of conservative women may have felt that way, or at least I hope so.

“Here’s hoping that those currently voting for Trump will give their votes to Cruz after Trump self destructs. Trump is a short-tempered, self-centered, chaotic ass.”

True, but likely wishful thinking.

I’m with you 100%. I think Trump is great, because he will take the flak and open up the political debate. Cruz will appear far more reasonable by comparison. Without Trump, all that media vitriol would be aimed squarely at Cruz. So it’s a win-win.

This is the kind of fire in the belly we've been waiting for.

Exactly. I'm not completely sold on Trump yet, but I am so glad to see someone punch back for once. Romney, McCain, Jeb Bush, all of those men would have apologized profusely to Megyn Kelly's obnoxious "war on women" assault. I am beyond sick of "Republicans" falling all over themselves to please the arbiters of political correctness!

He ripped Frank Luntz's post debate "focus group" as the joke that it was. He called the moderators unprofessional. He re-tweeted other tweets that Megyn Kelly bombed. Among others.

Naturally many are going to call this childish and unprofessional. But we have already established that with these folks, the "dignified" approach will result in yet another milquetoast nominee that will get destroyed by the Democrat in the fall.

People hate mealy mouthed, squishy words politicians. That is why he is doing so well.

Yes. I noticed the same. This was the only topic where she could pull in the tweets

I blame Bush for the political climate we have today.

He refused to stand up for himself or for the republican party and they savaged him. Once they saw they could get away with it they knew there was no limit to what they could say and get away with.

Good post. Trump is definitely a fighter. The GOP should be taking notes.

The loser was Megyn Kelly.

She self-destructed.

At this rate, the only one who might possibly be able to overtake Trump would be if Betty Boop were to run.

Vote as often as you want. Not to accurate of a poll. I wish it was a one vote only.

Trump is a short-tempered, self-centered, chaotic ass. That (mostly) knows what what to do, how to do it, and (seemingly) has the guts to defy the enemedia and America hating leftist academics that are near to destroying this country.

Surely if you could just think up some worse insults for Trump, all his fans will eagerly flock to your candidate.

I thought he did poorly last night in a few ways, but in no way did he knock himself out as Luntz tried to show, nor did he win as Drudge claims.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't learn how to deal with ten candidates on a stage, if nothing else, the man learns quickly.

His best line was about there not being time to be PC, and how much trouble we are in as a result of being cowed by the PC police ( police is my word).
