Yeah right.
Meanwhile in the real world....

Soon, the three dollar increase in the price of hamburgers will come as a rude surprise to the customers.
More proof that liberals are stupid.
Seattle Special--only $279.46
Will that be cash or credit?
Lies on top of lies on top of lies on top of still more lies...
It’s the Left. That’s all they do.
If they are doing so well, why don’t they double their wages again?
Well if someone gets bumped up by 12K I imagine they will pay more taxes at the end of the year hope they realize this.
There are many places that do NOT pay their wait persons minimum wage. In many places, wait persons are paid as little as $2 and change, per hour. That’s it. TWO Bux and change! Many people resent tipping these workers because they feel as though the restaurant is expecting the customer to pay the worker’s wage.
Something that hurt wait persons was having to claim tips, and under that rule, the employer is only obligated to pay min wage IF the tips don’t make the difference between the low wage threshold that the store is required to pay, and min. wage.
Many places demand you report your tips to them so that they can take 10% for the cook, and 15% for the bus persons despite the fact that these workers ARE paid min. wage! You aren’t allowed a tax brake for being forced to pay salaries out of your tips! And the customer isn’t even thinking about how the wait person has to release 25% of the tip for other employees.
To ME a tip is a private thing between the customer and the wait person...a thankyou for good service, and extra for extra service. A bribe even. It’s none of anybody’s business what a wait person receives in tips.
A tip is never a requirement. Not to the customer, not to the wait person. A bus person should not expected to receive a tip, but should be thankful and appreciative when a wait person is considerate and thankful for THEIR service.
I’ve had tips stolen by bus people, and was STILL required to tip them! When I worked without a bus person, and bussed my own tables, my tips tripled. Yep..so, I paid the bus person...ME.
When an employer values his staff, and has good staff, the customer is going to be a whole lot more willing to open the wallet. He’s going to be a repeat customer because that facility is a good one...specially since the food is fantastic, the place is clean, and the staff has an excellent attitude.
Of course it won’t matter to restaurants for the rich. And it won’t matter much to business customers.
It’s the working middle-class and poor that are always the sufferers from ‘progressive’ policies.
I ate at Ivar’s Salmon House last week. The tip was included in the final total. If I wanted to give extra, there was a line where I could, but I didn’t.
will that be credit or debit?
nobody uses cash any more..... too slow
We rarely go the full service any more...reason the food isn’t much better than fast food and the service is mediocre. I wish restaurants would stop with the tips and just pay the wait staff. I never understood why the tip was connected to the cost of the meal....does it take longer or cost more to serve a $15.00 item as opposed to a $10.00 dollar one!!
This was not that bad an article which highlighted one place where it may be working. The owner traded the increased pay by eliminating tips by increasing the prices by 21%. The article does say that others will have trouble because they might not be able to do the same. Like fast food where increases aren’t offset by tips.
Fast food labor accounts on average 25% of total costs. So increasing labor affects the retail price marginally.
So, the workers make nearly the same.
And many hundreds of other restaurants go under.
WELL PLAYED, LIBERALS!!!1!1!!!
I don’t know that there is much more room in restaurant prices for increases. What we will be seeing next is shuttered up businesses. But, then, leftists love to see that. It warms their black hearts.
What happens when you raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour? The average Social Security payout comes to roughly half that. Since prices rise to pay salaries you are screwing all the seniors whose monthly income is predominately SS.
