COBB COUNTY, Ga. Cobb County police are investigating how a loud music complaint led to an officer-involved shooting in unincorporated Marietta.
According to investigators, police were called to the Hill Crest Plaza Mobile Home Park on Atlanta Road on a noise complaint around 1:30 a.m. Monday
When officers arrived, they asked Brian Ohlman, 37, to turn down his music. After refusing their orders, police say he pulled out a gun and began shooting at the officers.
The male refused to turn the music down and then produced a handgun and started firing at officers at which time the officers fired back, said Officer Alicia Chilton.
The officers returned fire and struck the man at least once, investigators said. Neighbors said the man tumbled out of the window of the home.
Neighbors who knew the man told Channel 2s Ross Cavitt that they dont doubt those circumstances.
I mean, hes a nice guy, but if he did what he did, police had to do what they had to do, said Katie Lawrence who says shes friends with Ohlman.
The officers involved in the shooting were placed on routine administrative leave, pending the investigation.
Someone place a photo and flowers outside Ohlmans home, not knowing what could have set him off.
Hes a decent guy, just parties too hard, said one woman.
Ohlman remains in critical condition at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. He will face charges that include aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
Darwin still has a chance at this one.
too bad they didnt take em out...this time
Wouldn’t want to be a cop right now.
But at the same time, we do need some decent people TO BE COPS NOW, or else, it’s all way worse by default.
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING that happens in a trailer park will turn out well.
Redneck alert!
It's where fugitives hide out. Of the serious criminal cases in the county, maybe a quarter of them come out of this single community.
They are also not too bright. Guy had a spat with his neighbor, went to borrow some gasoline from another neighbor, told him he was going to burn X's trailer down. Told another neighbor he was walking up to X's trailer to light it on fire. After the fire, he returned the gas can to the first neighbor, said, "Well, I did it."
Meanwhile in Seattle a guy was shot pointing a cell phone at officers. Okay, so it was dark and the cell phone shiny, sorta.
Kind of a dumb headline.
The relevant point was that he fired the weapon at the cops, not that he pulled a gun.

The articles states he “produced” the gun as well. You would think the officers would have had some idea once the guy finished the mill work and began assembly. At some point one of them would have said, “Ya know....I think he is making a gun”.
Thanks for that.
Years ago, a Navy fighter went down near there. Area used to be called Fair Oaks. http://www.mdjonline.com/bookmark/25550431/blog+entry-The+Fair+Oaks+1964+Jet+Crash
I thought it had taken out some trailers, but per the story, it hit a house.
Look for the chicken
It’s never a good idea to point anything at an LEO.
Fingers included.
Wrong side of the airbase. Old 41, not new 41 (which may not be 41 either, these days).
