There will be no hate crime charges for two males arrested in the beating of a man that may have been sparked by a question about the 2014 shooting of Michael Brown.
St. Louis police have charged Ronald Williams, 21, with assault. A 15-year-old has also been arrested, according to authorities.
There had been speculation that the suspects might be charged with a hate crime because the victim was white and the people who attacked him were black. And because the punches were thrown following the Michael Brown reference.
But that won't be happening.

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
Well, while it’s obviously a bias crime (since it was a beatdown without robbery), a charge enhancement for the 3 on 1 unproked attack would do the trick.
Hate crime charges are so subjective as an enhancement that they are useless political toys for the prosecutor.
It is outrageous what the spokesman said about why they do not want to charge this as a hate crime too.
We are going into anarchy right now.
Blacks are attacking whites for no reason and homosexuals with their media and big business are bullying Christians.
Do you notice how they don’t mention muslims, Jews, Hindu’s?
This is a war against the founding of this country and Christians which the homosexuals have always hated.
I don’t buy into this crap by some saying they are Christian but then attack the freedom of religion.
Wow! White guys may as well have a “kick me hard”, “make fun of me”, “take my money”, “I’m privileged” sign around their necks.
How can it be a hate crime if it was only a white man getting beaten by blacks?

Think it’s bad for whites now?
Just wait until most of the law enforcement and judges are black, muslim and La-Raza type Latinos.
Thank goodness for fences.
“This is a war against the founding of this country and Christians which the homosexuals have always hated.”
...I agree with the “war” part. Gays and straights lived together quite well until this became agenda driven. My wife and I had gay friends before we had kids and never had issues. They respected our beliefs and accepted us as friends.
Of course not. These PERPS were BLACK. Now, had these PERPS been white beating up a BLACK person, there would have been HELL TO PAY. They would have gotten at the very minimum 20 years. You see, in this country, there are two sets of laws. One for BLACK perps and one for WHITE perps. Especially when dealing with attacks on one race against another.

During the beating, the black male continually screamed, "I hate you because you are white. I am beating you because you are white. I hate all whites."
Police refused to charge the black man with a hate crime because they said there was no evidence of racial motive.
The police chief dismissed the dozens of eyewitnesses and ten videos of the beating as "unconvincing".
Black hating against whitey? Everybody knows dats impossible.
Not too much of a double standard we’re living under, is there?
It won't take much for things to get out of control in large densely populated public situations.
However, had the victim done as I would have done, and pulled his gun and shot the perps for attacking him; that would have been construed as a hate crime.
Whites and Christians in America can now be legally victimized, beaten and discriminated against. All of that change in just 6.4 years of obozo being in the WH.
When this starts, it’ll be open season with no bag limit.
Is anyone surprised? Hate crime laws were created to ‘extra punish’ the oppressor (whitey) whenever possible. I believe I head Josh ‘Earnest’ say ‘the religious freedom laws were created to protect religious minorities from persecution’ (paraphrase). That was the rationalization for the bullying of Indiana and Gov Pence. So, now we find out that all the bullying of Christians is OK because Christianity is a majority religion. Minorities have the control and the country/world is much the worse off for it.
