U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry honored the memory of a Jordanian pilot tortured to death by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in finally calling the group by its Middle Eastern, regional Arabic name: Daesh.
The radical Islamic terror group that swallowed massive territory in Syria and Iraq and is penetrating into Europe, the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza, already has had many names. [ ]
Kerry went on to detail how each week brings new examples of how far the evil of these extremist groups reaches. Daeshs execution of a captured Jordanian pilot by burning him alive is a new level of depravity. And far from hiding such a despicable act, they posted a video of it for all the world to see. And last week, the UN reported the horrifying ways that Daesh treats even its most vulnerable captivescrucifying children; burying children alive; handpicking mentally challenged children to serve as suicide bombers and kill even more innocent people. This is what were up against.

You have to keep transmogrifying the terminology in order to keep the low-information types from catching on.
It’s called “I read more than you do.”
Ya forget killing them ,just change the name , again
Leftists have been twisting words to deceive people since their founder did it in Genesis 3.
Didn’t Daesh D’Souza go to jail? He’s one of those conservative haters, isn’t he?
The group's Arabic name is transliterated as ad-Dawlah al-Islāmīyah fī al-Irāq wash-Shām leading to the Arabic acronym Daish or DAESH (Arabic pronunciation: da:ʕeʃ). The name is also commonly translated as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria or Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham and abbreviated ISIS (/ˈaɪsɪs/). In June 2014 the group renamed itself the Islamic State (IS) but the new name has been widely criticized and condemned, with the UN, various governments, and mainstream Muslim groups refusing to use it.
So, we COULD just call it the Islamic State, but we have boldly decided to adopt the name which is considered more sensitive to Muslim sensibilities. Daesh it is, then.
If you cannot name your enemy, you cannot defeat your enemy.
This is the same coward who insisted that our troops were terrorizing Iraqi women and children in their homes in the middle of the night. This traitor is the only POS bigger than the POSOTUS. He should have faced the firing squad years ago.
Read recently that the term ‘daesh’ is derogatory. My source must be mistaken, as Kerry would never use a term that makes fun of or disdains jihadists.
Exactly right. Good, insightful post.
LOL! I love it!
“Islamic State” has the advantage of being what they call themselves and being extremely accurate.
It is politically harmful to one-worlder-libs who cannot stand that Islam (the anti-West) is so nasty. They want Islam as their ally against the West, but Islamic State is such a difficult ally to admit.
So, they won’t call Islamic State by its real name.
Kerry should demand that his ISIS guys start calling him Hanoi Boi.
Regardless of what you call them Imam Obama, they are still radical islamic terrorist.
Is that the Kerry that served in VEEEEEETNAM?
As I understand this, Daesh is a slur. The militant muzzie groups do not like this term, so when leaders like John Kerry and others use it; they basically want to piss off the terrorists.
On the other hand...
Could it be that using Daesh instead of the ISLAMIC State of Syria and The Levant detracts us away from the fact that IS is Islamic?
Despite what Nobama says.
I will continue to call a spade a spade and use the term IS. Pissing off muzzies is fine. Pissing off idiot libs is even better.
Yesterday, on FR’s Sunday Talk Show Thread, we discussed how to pronounce, DAESH.” FReeper twotone had the best suggestion: “DOUCHE.”
Just more “following from behind”.
