Read recently that the term ‘daesh’ is derogatory. My source must be mistaken, as Kerry would never use a term that makes fun of or disdains jihadists.
It's true and ISIS doesn't like it. I'm also surprised to hear John Heinz use it.

I read that, as well. It was in an article that someone posted on FR within the last several days. I recall that the piece was describing the response of Jordanians who were demonstrating in the streets. One of them was said to have used the term, and the writer of the piece said that it was derogatory.
