any adult who needs to be told that Pizza is not known as a “low calorie” food, can’t be helped much with anything else in life
"Government is NOT the solution. Government is the PROBLEM" - Ronald Reagan
Ping.
Good. Of course the fascists will do what they always do, but it’s good to see a human decide to not be a sheep.
Then again.... it might be the same people who wrote Obamacare.
And how many people will pay attention.... the Surgeon General’s warning on a pack of cigs.
Probably the last thing they are thinking about while digging into the pizza is how many calories and how nutritional.
How does a state assist a multi-state company to disengage from the federal government and financially protect it when a fed act unconstitutionally threatens to penalize the company economically?
Illinois Nazi’s... What did Elwood say about Illinois Nazis?
I’m still waiting for the government regulation that prevents 2 stupid people from being fertile & reproducing. /s
Eh...too late...we’ve crossed the rubicon. They now dictate our lives.
~sigh~
Actually Papa Johns has come up with an alternative that is pretty low cal, as pizza goes.
They have a thin crust (it reminds me of a matzo cracker), pile on the veggies, olives, mushrooms, tomatoes, jalapenos, banana peppers, green pepper...and it’s not bad.
Nutritional info per slice: 240 calories, 12 grams of fat, 24 carbohydrates, and 10 grams of protein per slice.
I just posted that same quote on a FB group I’m a member of. I opened an Etsy store to sell simple little baby items; bibs and burp cloths mostly. Until I discovered that those items are regulated by the US Gov’t. All children’s items are regulated by the US Gov’t. They must all be permanently tagged and tracked. They must all be tested for lead and safety unless they meet a very limited list of materials. To avoid testing you must register as a small batch generator and then you can use the certs that the manufacturers have for their testing of the individual materials that you use to make your finished product. Some items aren’t allowed to be made anymore, like jackets with drawstrings, because over the 25 years that they gov’t tracked a whopping 18 people died and 35 people were injured by drawstrings. You know those little fabric “bags” with rice or popcorn or buckwheat hulls in them that you can toss in the microwave to warm up and use them as heating pads? Those are now considered a “medical device” and as such must be approved by the FDA. And, if you make them you must register your business as a medical equipment manufacturer. I closed my shop.
“They hate people eating pizza and all the money that people still spend on food they like to eat.”
Always remember that these federal fascist bureaucrats live in your neighborhoods. They have a local address and shop at the stores in your community.
This silly silly government has turned the land into rubber room city.
Dear Lord, that is unbelievable!! Sickening. No wonder people can’t start new businesses or have to close the ones they already have. New [stupid] regulations cover almost everything you can think of. I’m sorry that happened to you!
What are you doing in a pizza joint anyway?
It’s very frustrating. I’m still part of the FB group and just shake my head at some of the questions people ask to try to figure out what they’re supposed to do to follow the law. Can’t upcycle old clothing into anything for a child because they can’t get certifications on the snaps, buttons, zippers, whatever is on it that might not meet the lead requirements. Permanent tags for tracking, fabric care, shop name on kids wash cloths. Every washcloth, even if sold in a set of however many.
I really think that quote applies to this. It’s very time consuming to get set up, there’s the cost of tags, testing if required, etc. It’s just not doable for most small at-home businesses. And you can’t even legally donate stuff without being compliant. It’s really a shame.
No more whiny "Can we have half of the pizza without onions?" or "I don't want any meat" or "I don't want any veggies". It'll be more like "I guess we'll have the pepperoni and mushroom."
I’m guessing it is “illegal” to expect people to do the math for themselves? Pizza, x calories. Pepperoni y calories. Mushroom z calories etc? Heck if they are so stupid that they have to be told every time they eat what foods are “good” and “bad” then they certainly cannot be smart enough to add up the calories they choose to add to their food. Sandwich, bread, meat, onions, lettuce tomatoes, mayo, pickles, mustard... oh, salt!?!?!
There’s nothing reasonable behind all of that and I wonder if Texas laws are as strict about these things... I was also surprised about your ‘donation’ comment because I know we are able to freely donate any used clothing to charities and places like Goodwill.
I had three daughters that I sewed for and have done all kinds of creative sewing. Mentioning that because I noticed your sewing thread when it started, but I haven’t sewed in many years now.
I’m sorry you ran into all these useless laws!
These are US laws, not state laws. I’m not sure when they went into effect, but many people aren’t aware that they exist.
Yeah, there wasn’t much participation in the sewing thread, so I stopped doing it. :) I’m enjoying learning though. I’ve made my little guy lots of stuff now. Currently working on a lined fleece jacket with an inner nylon layer to cut the wind.
