Dear Lord, that is unbelievable!! Sickening. No wonder people can’t start new businesses or have to close the ones they already have. New [stupid] regulations cover almost everything you can think of. I’m sorry that happened to you!

It’s very frustrating. I’m still part of the FB group and just shake my head at some of the questions people ask to try to figure out what they’re supposed to do to follow the law. Can’t upcycle old clothing into anything for a child because they can’t get certifications on the snaps, buttons, zippers, whatever is on it that might not meet the lead requirements. Permanent tags for tracking, fabric care, shop name on kids wash cloths. Every washcloth, even if sold in a set of however many.

I really think that quote applies to this. It’s very time consuming to get set up, there’s the cost of tags, testing if required, etc. It’s just not doable for most small at-home businesses. And you can’t even legally donate stuff without being compliant. It’s really a shame.
