MONROVIA, LiberiaAshoka Mukpo, an American freelance journalist diagnosed with Ebola, and the NBC News team he worked with here will be flown to the U.S., as the epidemic sweeping West Africa continues to have international repercussions.
Mr. Mukpo is scheduled to be picked up Sunday night in Liberia and will be transported to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, his father, Mitchell Levy, said Friday

And your post chokes me up. I have such great hopes for my kids. As we all do, I know.
My daughter just finished 8 years in the USAF and I am grateful she had a chance to serve even if it was under mostly a communist. I wish I didn’t have to apologize to her as often as I do for bringing her into a world with so many cowards in it.
For some reason we collectively sought to slit our own throats and we found a way. I wish it were not so.
IIRC, this freelancer was just hired a few days ago. I don’t know why NBC would do that, but now they are all coming back.
This guy is already symptomatic, and they are waiting till Sunday to get him? Beyond 4 days, after symptoms start, it gets really bad, and they have no ZMapp for him-right?
So why are they bringing this guy back and yet at the same time screaming that Mr. Duncan in Texas be prosecuted for doing the same thing???? Heading for the US because he KNEW he was infected.
At this rate, the Oligarchs/Elites will soon dedicate a few hospitals for their use exclusively.
I fear that you are right.
Nebraska is the home of one of our 4 special infectious diseases clinics, which are all placed close to major bio research centers.
NBC should be sued for bringing this guy into the U.S.
THEY KNEW HE WAS INFECTED.
Also the home of the singularly most important base to deal with the continuity of govt. in the event of...an ebola outbreak or nuke strike that could really screw the world up. So what brain surgeon put a hospital dealing with Ebola near (geographically) such an important governmental institution?
The elite will try to be exclusive and protected. It may not work.
Well, God bless her for her service.
She would have been a lifer. But she couldn’t deal with the liberalism now controlling the troops. And many of her fellows have left for the same reason. Some with decades under their belts.
Good point. I’m familiar with that. I don’t think they will escape.
Many will be hunted down.
Don’t forget what the french did to the collaborators in WW2. It won’t be just the elites. Anyone who contributed to the cause was hunted down.
*click* spin *click* spin *click* spin BANG!
Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!
Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Do you expect Ebola or Sars to break out of the lab there and overwhelm the base because they are in the same state?
How about the one in Bethesda and the super disease biological warfare lab at Walter Reed and the White house and Capitol within walking distance?
Seeding as many locations as possible.
Very common name these days.
Not much different from the name of the guy who takes dumps in the WH.
Stupid is stupid wherever you build it.
Are you under the impression that a disease that just casually hopped 5000 miles of water thanks to lax regs cannot breach its way out of a lab and make it a couple hundred? That’s some magical thinking.
DC is in its mess with the labs because people plan poorly.
