Brooklyn, Iowa The battle for control of the U.S. Senate could come down to a dispute between two neighbors in this heartland hamlet over four plump, wander-prone hens.
This spring, Pauline Hamptons chickens roamed onto Bruce and Carolyn Braleys vacation property on tranquil Holiday Lake. Hampton said she did not know this until she walked over one day to offer Carolyn a dozen fresh eggs. To which she said her neighbor replied, We arent going to accept your eggs and we have filed a formal complaint against you.
Carolyn took her complaint to their neighborhood homeowners association board meeting in May. Her husband, Bruce, then called the associations lawyer, Thomas Lacina, to say that he believed chickens are not pets and should not be permitted at Holiday Lake, and that he wanted to avoid a litigious situation, according to an e-mail Lacina wrote. Braley denied that he threatened a lawsuit.
Regardless, Hampton relented and built a wire fence in her back yard to contain the chickens. No harm, no fowl in the Braleys yard, at least.

Demon-rats of the "People" no doubt....
I don't Forsake them owning a "Hoilday Home", I forsake them Owning one and then complaining about the 1% WHILE owning a Holiday Home...
Screw them, I hope their neighbor buy some Goats, Sheep, Horse and Cows and has them trapse all over their damned land...
Range free eggs are the ones sold in every store. I think you mean free-range. ]
Free Rang Please! But NOT IN MY BACKYARD...
Our Appraiser is an elected official, so he can’t be too asinine in his appraisals. State law says the the appraisals should be within 10% of the real estate market for that particular area. So, they take into considerations what the property sold in the area since the last appraisal (every ten years) has gone for.......................
The DemonRats and RINOcrats could certainly USE more connection back to the Real world that is Nature and Farming....
>>I didn’t credit the talk about a “GOP wave” this year before now but I’m starting to re-think. <<
I think what you’re seeing is a bunch of Dem candidates struggling because Obama has had six years to implement their favored policies and the result has been abject failure across several fronts. As a result, they have nothing to advocate so the news revolves around their inevitable missteps.
Think about it. They won’t be seen with the President. They can’t talk about Iraq or Afghanistan. Russian reset...nope. Immigration looked good, until people realized their local schools were going to be inundated with young illegals this year. Obamacare...nope. Economy humming....hardly.
They’re screwed, and they know it. But they’re politicians and so they have to say something. But what? What can they advocate that Obama hasn’t already dynamited? When their best option is to rail against his policies (coal, Keystone pipeline, drone warfare) they’re toast.
Reminds me of an issue some family memebers are having right now.
They own a farm and sold a few acres to some folks wanting to move out of the big city. Now they do nothing but bitch and complain about the “Dust” from the gravel Road Nearby, and the dust that gets kicked up when my family members till the nearby field....
They wanted to move into the country because they appently hated the suburb they were in, only to bring a bunch of their own bad city habits with them and now have become a complete pain the rear end for my Family Memeber.
They now deeply regret selling those dozen acres to a bunch of sanctimounous aholes that though living in the country would be like living on a “movie farm”.... Bunch of jerkwads....
No need to edit, I knew what you meant.
This is what Braley is up against...he’s toast!
Just another Democrat “working for the Little Guy, you know, the common man...”
[This is what Braley is up against...hes toast!
]
The neighbors need to get some pigs and make them squeal, lol
Free Range Chickens, Only in America.
Poultry can be seriously messy, but there were only four hens and they seemed to have roamed the neighborhood (one of the neighbors said they passed through her property all the time and left no sign, and she wondered why Braley was the only one who seemed to find droppings!). It’s not clear to me that they ever asked their neighbor to keep her chickens penned up before they filed a complaint, and their point seems to be that this place, known as Holiday Lake, is a place for the vacationing wealthy only, folks like them, in other words, and not for permanent rural residents.
How Democrat of them!
“OK...so why would wapo publish this?”
i think it was because the braleys refused local food free range eggs
every DC foodie is outraged by their “corporate farming” mentality LOL
couldn’t have have happened to a more deserving democrat that trial-lawyer “where’s my towel?” braley
My neighbor has chickens and I can’t stand them, the constant crowing and clucking. They’re inside the city limits and are a total nuisance.
And if they came into my yard and crapped on my grass, I’d be ticked...I don’t want to walk on bird poop, as I’m often barefoot in the back yard.

“...when a simple conversation with the neighbor could probably have solved the problem.”
Very true.
Plagiarism is the one crime that liberal academics don’t forgive. Walsh is being thrown under the bus.
A bunch of Democrats are arrogant, condescending a-holes?
I never would have expected that.
