Maui County police says the late state health director Loretta Fuddy died due to cardiac arrhythmia as a result of stress after a Makani Kai Air plane crashed off of Molokai last month.
An arrhythmia is a problem with the rate or rhythm of the heartbeat.
Fuddy's death has been ruled as accidental.
On Dec. 11, the plane lost power off of Kalaupapa. Nine people were on board the plane including Fuddy. The pilot and seven other passengers survived the crash.
The pilot and a passenger who swam to shore have said Fuddy appeared fine while bobbing in the water after everyone exited the plane and waited for help to arrive.
Fuddy's brother, Lewis Fuddy, says she was healthy and didn't have any known heart problems.

I wish the family would have flown her body off that island for the autopsy. Too late now so RIP, Ms. Loretta Fuddy.

I think Oprah has a “suck out that fat” doctor on site.
So Fuddy had an heart abnormality and the coroner made an educated "guess" based on that? Or the coroner says lets call it a heart attack because that's the easy way out because of the controversy?
Oh, and I am stating for the record the following: (a) as a Catholic, I would never consider suicide; (b) I don’t “do” depression (or fear for that matter - apparently lack those genes); (c) my heart is fine; and (d) a select few here including Mr. Jim Robinson know who I am in the real world.
Mr. Robinson, if I “commit suicide” or die of sudden heart failure, would you please post my real name and a copy of this comment?
PS All of us frequent commenters certainly have been noted. And yes, I am having some IRS battles. But they’re not too nasty. Yet.

The original story quoted her government colleague as saying that everything was normal with her and he was holding her hand as they treaded water and next thing he knew, she was dead. I would think any heart distress would cause a little more commotion from the victim involved.

I’m also wonder how soon after death did they do the autopsy. Was it within 24 hours?

She also questions accounts that show rescue crews did not reach the scene until well after the plane crashed, indicating that the site’s proximity to the coast would have made the event obvious.
“They were very close to shore,” she contended. “In this instance, the crash could have been seen by shore. Why did it take a reported hour-and-a-half to rescue them?”
Wow, great find FW! It pretty much confirms this news story re: Fuddy’s death is a load of BS!!
Had to go with the coconut version. Recently, while attending the inspection on the home we were recently buying, I was standing out by the pool taking a call when I was narrowly missed by a coconut falling from a quite tall tree. I looked over to my wife and said “you almost got a free house”.
I never thought of that. They could be having one of those botox or lipo retreats. I thought Oprah, Michelle, and Valerie weren’t getting along? That they dumped Oprah after she wasn’t needed anymore?

IOW, they couldn’t find a physical cause of death and desperately wanted to call it a natural death so they said she died because her heart stopped beating.

That is a good question, for all those on the flight and their families.
I challenge anyone who thinks foster died in that park to think about the video that *should* exist of vince strolling out of the WH and leaving his parking lot.
That video went missing - and never surfaced. The video covering the storage area for video - also missing.
Tell me again how Vince got out of the WH?
