Up until the viral video of Obamaphone Lady appeared (Keep Obama in president, you know!), the webpage at obamaphone.net was all about how President Obama was giving all the poor people free phones. As if he was paying the bill, rather than us.
But now that the Obamaphone Lady has been exposing the program so effectively as a vote-buying giveaway to hate-filled societal leeches, the Obamaphone.net page has changed completely.
Guess what?! Obama has nothing to do with it! As you might expect, its Bushs fault, at least partially. The webpage that previously bragged about how much Obama was doing for the leeches, now says it was a program under Bush, that was started under Clinton in accordance with a law passed by FDR after an agreement with the phone companies was reached by Woodrow Wilson. Im not making that up, see for yourself. The new Obamaphone.net webpage was slapped together in the last few days, obviously without an editor in sight. It reads like a Chinese take-out menu for very happy family to you of good health for light!
Many people think that Obama is giving free cellphones to the poor in order to redistribute the wealth of rich people. Since then two groups are mudslinging at each other... But the Obama part is not true as Obama didnt initiate this program. Its on the run since the administration of Reagan It started back in 2008 when Trafcone started their service under this program at Tennessee. At the same year Obama was elected President but Trafcone began their Safelink service three months before which means the program was discussed and approved by Obamas predecessor Bush. So now you know that there is nothing called the Obama Phone! The president actually has no real impact on the program so it shouldnt be called Obama Phones. The Lifeline program for cell phones was actually started under President George Bush with grants from an independent company crated under president Clinton.
The changes have dishonestly been backdated to December 2011 to pretend it has nothing to do with the Obama Administration running away from the program they used to brag about. Unfortunately, I cant find the original obamaphone.net page that gave all the credit to Dear Leader. Its been wiped clean. Even archive.orgs Wayback Machine has been scrubbed!
With my limited skills, I have been unable to find an archived version anywhere. If any of you can, please post it to keep Obama in President, you know!
See post 8 above for the most logical explanation.
” “free” phone is being marketed as a way to make “emergency communications.”
Any cellphone will call 911 without a contract. Emergency calls is just a smokescreen. If you spend 250 minutes on 911 calls a month you probably ought to think about going to a safer neighborhood.

“morphed under Barry to a giant give-away to his selected constituency.”
I’d love to see the numbers of free fones per president!
The “Fone Company” used to be listed in the Milwaukee “Fonebook.”
low minority, low minority...
There was no robot.txt file associated with this page - I checked. It is caching the index page and all related subs. I was able to locate caches of all linked pages appropriately. They existed, but the domain was crawled again, for some reason, by all three of the primary SO’s on 10/2. All three search engines showing up on the same day when there are billions of pages to crawl?!?!?
Unreal! I remember seeing the original Obamaphone website over a year ago and being disgusted! Obama is the one who pushed calling them Obamaphones. Now he can choke on it!
The Hussein Heads at Snopes are right on this, although how they can see to type with their heads so far up Hussein’s posterior is baffling.
They’ve assured us no taxpayer money is used, and all is well.
FU Hussein Heads!
—— Who the hell put this web site up? -——
It’s so bad I’m seriously considering translation from a foreign language.
China?
*snork*
Zappa/MOI/Dick Barber reference?
Someone needs to do a VIDEO of Obamaphone meets the Call Me Maybe song...
Can any savvy Freepers manage this brilliant idea? Inserting the various former “scrubbed” pages into it? WOW!
Anyone with Romney connections or even Palin or other big Pubs? Get them involved. Propose the project to Pub funding sources?
Please ping me and if possible copy Alan at alan@antimullah.com so it gets posted there. And goes out to his wide ranging mailing lists. This is terrific, even better than Biden’s latest gaffe about the middle class suffering for the last four years! Under whom? Under Obama.
TracFone Wireless Launches SafeLink Wireless(R) to Aid 812,807 Low-Income Households in Tennessee Participants Receive Over an Hour of Free Talk Time Monthly and Free Wireless Cell Phone NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(Business Wire)-- Today, TracFone Wireless, Inc., America's leading prepaid cell phone provider announced its launch of SafeLink Wireless(R) in Tennessee. SafeLink Wireless will serve as the company's distribution of Lifeline - a U.S. government supported program for income eligible households that ensures telephone service is available and affordable for eligible low income households. The SafeLink Wireless service will provide eligible low-income households a free cell phone, mobile access to emergency services and free 68 minutes of air time, monthly, for one year. The cell phone offers in-demand features: voicemail, text, call waiting, international calling to over 60 destinations and caller ID. "Over 812,000 households in Tennessee qualify for the Lifeline services - offering these participants the opportunity to have the same access and privileges many individuals take for granted when it comes to using cell phones," said Javier Rosado, Senior Vice President of Lifeline Services for TracFone. "The SafeLink Wireless service is truly unique because we are providing a service that no other company has made available before - a free cell phone and free monthly minutes to qualifying low income families," added Rosado. SafeLink Wireless offers low income families accessibility, freedom and the security in knowing that should an emergency occur - wherever they are, they will stay safe and stay connected. Economic opportunities for low-income households A recent study ("Cell Phones Provide Significant Economic Gains for Low-Income American Households," April 2008) analyzed the impact of mobile phones on low-income households. "In this day and age, the cell phone should be deemed an imperative necessity for the millions of low-income families who are far less likely to own them," said Nicholas P. Sullivan, the study's author and visiting scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. "Our study showed cell phones can significantly boost the earning potential of these communities, and this connectivity vastly encourages their opportunities and remains central to their everyday survival," Sullivan stressed. The study also revealed the cell phone is a critical component for personal safety, access to emergency services, and can potentially increase a low-income family's economic productivity and earning power. Other relevant survey findings included: -- Cell phones provide a "security blanket" and are "extremely important" for "emergency use." -- A cell phone is preferred to a landline phone for mobility and security purposes, and is preferred to a landline phone for emergency use by 3-1 ratio. -- 48% have used their phone to call or text during an emergency situation. -- 20% have received an emergency call or text on their cell phone. -- 32% have purchased a cell phone for a relative to use in emergency situations. -- 40% in blue-collar jobs say their cell phone has provided the opportunity to gain employment or make money. Daily, millions of Americans depend on mobile telecommunications for a wide range of basic activities including: calling emergency services, searching for employment, staying connected with loved ones, and much more. Yet, for people who cannot afford cell phones, being part of today's connected world and performing these crucial day-to-day needs is near impossible. Typically, families living below the poverty line struggle to pay their monthly bills, experience credit issues, and cannot afford traditional home phone and wireless services. Using public pay phones regularly pose problems and cell phone contracts often are difficult to maintain due to costly usage charges over long-term agreements. As a result, regular communications is a major dilemma for these families.
