NEW YORK (AP) - An ABC News executive tells The Associated Press that the network has interviewed Newt Gingrich's second wife and is likely to air the segment Thursday on "Nightline."

Thank you for sourcing your obviously accurate contention...at least according to one named person who is willing to be publicly quoted.
It does not change my judgment of Newt one wit. He's a scumbag. I think it's plain silly to suggest how he treated his ex-wives...or what he thought of them...in the qualifications for the office.
I recognize and respect any who consider these issues deal breakers. I'm not one of them.
And, he is the only person in the GOP field that can beat Obama and Romney.
Vote for anyone you wish in the primary. When the general election comes around please consider who is the best choice of the two on the ballot.
If it's Newt and Obama, would you choose Obama because he's a good, faithful family man?
I saw on one of these threads that “Newt is a scumbag”. Another FReeper replied, “Yeah, but he’s our scumbag.”
I can understand that. IF (big if) I vote for Newt, it will be based on his abilities to turn his many and obvious failures into lemonade.
If he can’t convince me, then I will vote for Mitt. At least Mitt does not have the moral issues that Newt does.
Typically it takes two people to eff up a marriage...one isn’t getting what he/she needs from the other, and the other isn’t giving what he/she needs.
Marriages fall apart. It’s a fact of life. Whatever the REAL reasons were that Newt’s marriages fell apart, they are his own business. People fall out of love, they realize they aren’t compatible in all the ways they need to be, etc., who knows? It comes down to he said/she said.
She had 20 years to bring this out. Now she comes crawling out of the cellar looking for a little payback with a chip on her shoulder and a willing co-conspirator in ABC news. Gee...how convenient.
We were told for eight years by the Dims that Slick Willie’s private life didn’t matter. To my mind, we should hold the media to that same standard regarding Newt.
This woman is coming off sounding vindictive, petty, shrewish, and plain bitchy. Who knows what it was like living with her. At this point, she’ll say anything - scripted, prodded, enhanced, cajoled, and coached ahead of time by a hostile liberal “news” organization determined to foist either Obama or Romney on us.
The libs will ALWAYS let you know who they’re worried about.
If I were Newt, I’d address it immediately and forcefully, and call it exactly what it looks like - a bitter, nasty ex-wife who will say and do anything to get even.
If he cant convince me, then I will vote for Mitt. At least Mitt does not have the moral issues that Newt does.
Good Grief!
What do you call a baby killer?
Is Mitt a baby killer? Gee, I missed that link.
Look. I know what you mean. Mitt has flip-flopped on the abortion issue. Currently - he’s against it. I get that.
But Mitt’s flip-flopping VIEWS on abortion is much better than Newt’s PRACTICE of adultery.
After reading the majority of the comments on here .. I have no doubts that everyone here should be in agreement that Clinton should never have been impeached.
It wasn’t about the BJ’s. It was about the chief executive lying under oath in a sexual harassment lawsuit to cover his own a**.
Look in the mirror, hypocrite. Voting for a man who is a serial adulterer, not just Marianne, and he had affairs with other women too besides his ex-wives. Amazing what you are capable of overlooking. Hypocrisy reigns supreme on these Gingrich threads.
Yes. Thievery is so much more honest.
Opposition Dossier on Romney Hits Internet
Romney Sat On Board Of Damon Clinical Laboratories, A Bain Capital Portfolio Company Fined Nearly$120 Million In 1996 Due To Medicare Fraud.
It should have been about selling and giving our nuclear secrets to Communist China, and selling the tool and die equipment to make the machinery for them.
It was and is treason.
But we were not in a declared war.
The man should have been drawn and quartered.
Cannot agree with your final sentence.
The Mitt Romney persona is a construction, just like O’s. Dig a little deeper; his immorality (arrogance, pride, lies glibly, not really a devout Morman no matter how much money he gives the LDS groups) is dressed up prettier than Newt’s obvious sins of the flesh but Romney’s fallen-human traits are still plainly visible to a discerning eye.
Gingrich foretold that this sort of publicity (ex-wife rants) was coming and now it’s here.
It WAS about the BJ’s.
This is where the character issues first come into play. Because Clinton was a horn dog - he naturally lied under oath.
We conservatives used to say (about Clinton) that if we can’t trust a man to remain faithful to his wife, then how can we trust him on other fundamental issues?
Now that Newt is our “only option”; we seem to forget about the moral issues.
Gingrich/Perry 2012 ......
Perry/Rubio 2020
Go Newt !
Hey Boots....
Remember - it ain’t treason when a Dem does it...it’s just “trade” with a like-minded partner.
Slick Willie should be in an orange jumpsuit sharing a cell as Billybob’s Love Sponge.
It’s called “lack of balls”, and that’s the reason he’s still free.
You statement is a demonstration of your willful ignorance.
Clinton was Impeached for lying to a Federal Grand Jury investigating charges of sexual harassment.
He was not impeached for screwing women while married.
As far as I know Newt has never even testified before a Federal Grand Jury.
Did you moral zeal blind you to the facts?
Well stated.
I can’t argue the fact that neither Romney or Gingrich is WAY less than acceptable.
And we all know how this scenario worked out for us in 2008.
Newt never attacked Clinton for personal sins. The impeachment was about lying under oath and Gingrich always made his impeachment arguments based on that.
It is up to all e-mail/Twitter/Facebook warriors to remind America about Obama’s bisexual cocaine binges with his friend Larry Sinclair.
Time to fight fire with fire on every message board you encounter!
Not saying that Mitt doesn’t have moral issues. He does.
But if I look at your example (and over analyze it) and weigh thievery against banging your intern for years and years while still married....
Then guess who loses in the ‘morality matters’ contest?
I’ve seen posters say that if one asks for forgiveness, then it’s between the sinner and God. (another interesting point—Gingrich can say he has changed, yet Romney saying he’s changed his view on abortion is not to be believed. I guess only God knows what is in their hearts. Ah, the mental gymnastics....) I don’t remember Clinton asking for forgiveness, at least not before the appearance of the blue dress and he knew he was caught. The legalities of the actual impeachment were about the lying under oath.
