The proposal is not to tax the rich..but to tax highest income earners. There is a big difference. Many of the rich don’t have much taxable income..their wealth is in real estate, stocks, tax free bonds, trusts and valuables. Warren Buffitt has most of his wealth in Berkshire stock..which pays no dividend and only takes a modest salary. Most of his travel and expenses are business related.
If we proposed a tax on wealth..you would see these people singing a different tune.

US government has provided tax holes which pits each against the other and the name calling starts - also cheating and lying.
Just tax everyone the same — 10%
The only exception might be the very poor, but, for the ‘very poor’ to feel a part of - everyone should contribute.
I am leaning toward a law that says that if someone publicly says THEY want to HAVE TO pay higher taxes then THEY have to pay them. I wont fret the details because it wont happen.
But they should make their tax returns public.

Actually I think it is a fascinating thing that these ‘rich’ democrats all want to have the government tax and redistibute the money for them.
Consider that they don’t want to donate directly to the poor. I think that is fascinating. They scream, yell, protest, etc....and yet, they, themselves don’t want to take direct responsiblity for donating to making people’s lives better. If the government does it for them ...then they can’t be blamed for failed efforts.
There is just something really, really strange in their tax and distribute policy. Besides it just being evil and wrong. It is weird how they won’t support a normal charitable effort and have to funnel it through something like the government to show that they are some how good people.

I have yet to see a rich lib actually attempt to answer the rebuttal of “nothing’s stopping you from writing a check”.
Well, maybe THEY think they have answered it, but the closest I’ve heard them come to answering it was something along the lines of “it’s not what we do individually, but what we do collectively”.
