You have to take into account the merits of the case if you are going to make the statement you follow up with. The merits of the case were not there according to this court!
One aspect...The DNA evidence fell apart...poorly collected, tainted, and chain-of-custody was faulty.
Another aspect...Apparently, the Italian DA was on a personal crusade to put this kid in jail regardless of guilt.
None of us know the full/real story...and probably never will.

I am not sure that's accurate. What I heard Judge Napalitano explain was that 6 were regular jurists and two were judges...and the judges get 2 votes each.
Also the panel is not prohibited from the discussing each days testimony and evidence prior to deliberations....they were able to freely discuss it among themselves each evening.

She may be innocent of the murder but she is a dirtbag in her willingness to knowingly send an innocent man to prison.”
I wonder how often that happens here, too.
A young girl gets MURDERED, but the prosecutor goes after the foreign room mates, and takes 47 days to gather DNA evidence.

You expect this kind of behavior on sports message boards. The fact that we have such a crowd here tells you how much trouble we're really in.

Funny, I get the impression that is exactly what the other guy did - Guede. He pleaded innocent, was found guilty and only got 16 years. Sounds a little fishy, no?

Meanwhile, from everything I’ve read, Guede is exactly the type of scumbag I would expect to do the crime, compared to a relatively wealthy young American girl who grew up in the land of granola chicks (Seattle).
I mean, the motive was what? That Kercher was a stick in the mud? Like, the kind of stick in the mud that sleeps with Guede???
While, she very well may have been involved because humans are crazy and unpredictable, the evidence was lacking. How can any prosecutor be surprised that trace amounts of Knox’s DNA is on a kitchen knife in her own apartment?
I also noticed courtroom attendants, whether they were judges or whatever, they were in robes, hugging her.
Damn right she was. She appears to be a either a real ditz, overly kind and unassuming, or a combination.
If that Prosecutor didn't have papers ready to file in court, he didn't really want to try this case again. He's hoping she leaves town like now.

I didn’t follow it too closely but read up on it today. I’m convinced she was innocent.
The guy in prison Guede—a drifter on the ivory coast—lied that they were in on it. He told two other people that amanda and her boyfriend weren’t there.
And then the prosecutor said Amanda corrupted her Italian boyfriend with her crazy sex fetishes. Supposedly Amanda, her boyfriend and this nasty Guede guy wanted to have an orgy with the roommate, but when she refused they killed her.
Guedes DNA was all over the place along with bloody hand prints. Amanada’s DNA was so minute they couldn’t retest it. No blood on her or her fingerprints in blood.
Guede lied and the prosecutors ruined this girl over it.
