An ATF source has provided reporters a copy of a letter sent on June 1, 2010 which indicates that the monumental scandal known as 'Project Gunwalker,' or 'Operation Fast and Furious,' was never a sting operation as previously reported. If such an allegation is true, then the official Obama Administration explanation for the operation is entirely false.
The commonly-reported talking point concerning Gunwalker is that it was intended as a sting operation but that it went bad when rogue ATF agents took it in a sinister direction.
But the letter of June 2010, forwarded to reporters David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh, indicates that nothing about the operation contained any of the elements of a 'sting.' Everything ATF agents did in placing guns into the hands of Mexican drug cartels was done in the open and with the approval of their supervisors:

“not a sting” ping
Only purpose was to gain back door support for gun control.
Obama told supporters he was going “under the radar” to implement gun control.
Gunwalker is it!
Bingo!
I’ve been waiting for a reporter to ask Obama what program he was referring to when he said they were working on back door gun control.
So far no one has asked, and if they would I’m sure he couldn’t present such a program — other than Gunwalker.
I agree with part number one and part number ditto...........
Not the only purpose - they also wanted to arm leftist cells and drug cartels in order to destabilize a few neighboring governments. Think of it as Cloward-Piven on a larger scale.
Drudge now reporting taxpayers bought the guns too. Some stimulus, eh?
That's what it seems like - but could they really be that stupid?
I mean, these are people who have been to college, balanced their checkbooks, made mortgage payments and navigated through other adult tasks - how can they also be so massively incompetent?
Bump
Massive arrogance led them to believe that the rule of law did not apply to them.
It’s part of their [evolutionary] worldview that “the masses” are stupid and easily manipulated, whereas they, the elite, are so far advanced that no one would dare question them.
If ever a crime was committed by politicians that was deserving of time in the Big House, this is it.
I'm always leery of information from anonymous sources that are 'too good to be true.'
a white guy would get impeached for this, easily.
“It’s purpose was to flood Mexico with US guns and say “See! All these guns are coming from the United States! We have to control the guns!””
Obviously if there had actually been lots of illegal guns going to Mexico as the anti-gun nuts claimed, they wouldn’t have needed this scheme in the first place.
