If you are affected by the storm approaching, please tell us what you have done to prepare for it.
And keep us updated as it comes your way.
My only advice is to keep an eye on what the rainfall might bring in these inland New Jersey counties.
Let’s hope not! Please check in on Sunday...
‘I don’t even like beef jerky.’
Send the beef jerky to the troops.
A little, a lot - doesn’t matter.
You’ve got lots of time before the jerky ‘expires.’
You’re welcome - - -
There is nothing wrong with being prepared for the worst!
‘____she bought us ice cream.’
L O L !
Hope it wasn’t that Leftist stuff - you know ‘Jen and Berry’s’ - - -
Would you like to have guests this weekend? ;)
check...check...and check...
How’s our friend silent_jonny? He’s down there in NC, no?
We are expecting gorgeous weather here in Northern PA for the Little league World Series this weekend.
I will be thinking of all our east coast FReepers!
Stay safe and stay calm.
All need a sign that says..
“Theres nothing worth stealing here... thats worth your life”..
______north of Tampa. (In your tag line).
Anywhere near the Spring Hill area?
“Ive slowly built a post 9/11 compound with food, water and supplies. The few people I have told about my planning think Im a fringe character.”
I wish I had the extra space or property to do what you’ve been doing. What you’re doing is simply common sense - all the more so that you live in an urban area.
We are too, we are just a few blocks off the Raritan Bay on the “wet side” of Rte 36.
We are leaving in the AM with our cat (sheesh!) and heading out to Lancaster PA where hopefully our reserved, pet friendly room will be waiting for us.
Secured everything outside today.
I think the biggest danger is flooding, more than winds.
I’m actually very anxiety ridden about the whole thing, I really hope my house does not get destroyed.
I’ve put all the sentimental stuff that I can fit up on the closet shelves.
We’re under mandatory evacuation, so we really didn’t have a choice in the end, luckily we didn’t wait until it got to that point.
The weather people might be hyping things, but they’ve closed the Atlantic City Casinos and they are going to shut down the NYC subways and I don’t think anybody is doing that stuff for hype.
As I said to hubby I hope we come back and say “we could have stayed” not “I’m glad we left”, but either beats saying “we should have left”.
Just praying and worrying, that’s all that’s left to do.
‘She doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence standing next to DM.’
I bet not - think Dean Martin has been gone for a while now - - -
(PS Lt Gov of where ? - - - Thanks)
Fried chicken is a great idea! Altho I’ll bake mine. We don’t have a grill so if the electricity goes out...
We’re in lower Bucks County PA, fortunately on a hill,- so the water will run off.
Great ideas here tonight. I’m old enough to remember the ‘38 hurricaine and it appears Irene is following the same track. Amazing to see all the northbound traffic on the Garden State Parkway on the news tonight so the shore folks are taking the warnings seriously.
Stay safe, everyone.
Fill up your bathtubs for ‘flush’ water ;o)
Or, is this driven by the TV news cycle?
There is nothing wrong with being prepared, and there will be damage without a doubt. I just don't see Armageddon stemming from Hurricane Irene as we're being conditioned to accept.
Friend of mine just called to say he is heading east into New Jersey. He has to deliver something. What kind of nut would do that. Can I ask, how bad is it there right now and when is it supposed to hit where you are?
A lesson I learned the hard way.
Me and lil were supposed to go up to our camp in Tioga County PA this weekend for our annual association meeting...but decided to stay here with family around to keep an eye on things.
It’ll flood in all the usual places.
