Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.
Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.
"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

A month and a half after finding John and NOW they're bringing CSI into his house? Or could it be that the FBI is now involved in the background? Very strange report.
It looks as if they might have been out in the storage shed. I wonder if they even checked that the first time.
Very odd indeed - thanks for the update.
I certainly hope they have leads!!
Am betting that one of the forensic report came in and now they’re following up on it.
Can any one read they white letters on the fellow's shirt that is carrying the evidence?
FYI More news.
I do appreciate any pings. It’s hard to keep up with even some of the topics I’m interested in. What with comp problems, only 24 hours a day, work, duties, etc.
Let's just think about it. Sometime on the 29th, he arrived home. He probably showered and changed. His clothes mught hold some DNA from an earlier encounter with someone....
I think the FBI and Jack's buddies are busy, busy and they're starting from scratch and thinking outside the box.
I can’t read the shirt, but watching the video I did not see any federal tags on the vehicles (white with black lettering).
I take that back. I did see one when they were leaving.
Or did someone change out of his own clothes into items worn by Jack?
Could be the jacket he had on on the 29th. Might have made it back home to get hoodieStill thinking bus route. waiting until dark to get in and out of house.
The house did it?
I keep thinking that Jack left us some clues...The carrying the shoe for one thing...The fact that he didn't want the police involved when people asked....at this point at least. I still say he got a whack in with the shoe and he drew blood....
By now, they know where he stayed in Wilmington on the 29th and 30th....and/or perhaps with whom...
I just know that Jack told someone via phone or computer before he left on his last walk...which I believe was back to the scene of the crime.
That they went back to the house tells me they are coming under some serious pressure to find Jack’s killer(s).
Did they need a new warrant for this search or are previous warrants “open ended” (for lack of a better term).
If it were me, I would have taken lots of pictures of every room in the house and his closet in particular...cast foot prints at every entrance...and grab his clothes from the hamper...
They know what he left NYC wearing, and DC and at the pharmacy...then the video...then probably plenty of cameras no matter where he went or what building he enetered.
Good ideas. We owe it to Jack Wheeler.
Slapping my head..I forgot that possibiity.
In this case, it looks like the "observer" in the classic trench coat in the picture may be the dude.
Colm Connolly, her attorney, likely has DEEP connections with the FBI because of his previous positions.
I bet the FBI is the one who is really working this....and the Police...well they look busy and happy as long as they have a donut in each hand.
Posting these links to keep thread btt.
