Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.
Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.
"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

I thought he gave a lousy and incorrect summary of events and he was reading it besides.
He's a paper pusher.
The FBI and the Vets will get this solved.
Are you talking about Baylor? It is interesting how 2 people can come away with 2 different impressions of the same situation.
They knew homicide from the beginning...They didn't know gun, knife or a whack. The idea that police weren't cooperating with the family??? What does it even mean...that LE wouldn't share their notes???
Gotcha. Different person altogether.
I was impressed with Dave Baylor in the segment. He did seem to be the only one grounded in reality.

I found this interesting...
I don’t wish to mislead...The article is from 2006...
You have to think about it for a while but I think this particular attorney was hired because he has the "dirt" on Delaware. He's a Repub.
So now, after much thought and a little research, I'd say someone very well connected tipped her to Connelly. But I'm sure there are a couple of attorneys involved...and a whole lot of Vets.

Placemark.
I agree 100%. We must not let Jack Wheeler’s murder be dropped like the Beverly Hills police did to the Ronni Chasen homicide.
There are Freepers who are former veterans from every branch of our military, former intelligence agents, former law enforcement who can help figure out Wheeler’s murder or at least point out the obvious discrepancies and cover up.
We owe it to this patriot to ensure his murder isn’t swept under the political carpet.
Any idea how to keep it in the public eye? How about organizing another reward fund, in addition to the family’s, from vets and their supporters? An add in any of the vet magazines should get it started. Maybe even FOX give it a shout out!
Bet they even have think tanks. The Brothers are like that.
It'll be solved...
If they hadn't found the body...whole different ball game...although I'm sure they would have everntually searched the landfill since he was only 2 miles from there when he was last seen.

Not much new; last notes from Radell Smith - DE ME Death Stats shows that out of 58 DE Homicides in 2010, only 3 were determined as "Blunt Force Trauma" by the ME's office.
This is a solvable crime. Finding the body says that everything went wrong that morning for a couple of nasty hoods...
I messed up..
