The left thinks separation of church and state means that government-funded institutions cannot legally say anything good about Christianity — but insulting Christianity on the taxpayer’s dime? That would be double-plus good.

More and more I’m feeling there is only one solution to this conflict.

Compared to the vision of what this country was supposed to be there will be no real winners. However, we are dying a death by a thousand cuts and a decisive action would be more humane for all parties concerned.

"The author is a known social Marxist, hates everything American, everything that America stands for or was built on," Aimee Taylor said. "I mean when you read the book you see that strongly in this woman's agenda. It's horrible."

of course

Are they trying to create hippies that will create further rebellion against the system or teach them about the system so they don’t have to live on minimum wage the rest of their lives?

Schools seem to be confused on their purpose.

She’s a red commie, rich background - usual stuff. Her dtr was just hired by obama for a top state department position...no surprise. The young private had help and the state department are full of people who hate America/Americans...

Her profile

We’ve got to find out who approved, therefore wanted, pure evil to spread within our schools to the kids. Their soul is so dark and ugly it’s frightening.

What makes one think that a person with a Ph.D. in education or an Ed.D. can read? And if they can read, what makes one think they will read?

Gotta love the UL's comments..."But...but...she's right! Nobody can live on minimum wage!"

Newsflash, idiots--minimum wage was NEVER meant to sustain a family. It's a starting point, one which is used to build experience and education so that one ISN'T in fact stuck in such jobs for their entire lives.

"Nickel and Dimed" is a first-person account of author Barbara Ehrenreich's failed attempts to make a living at various minimum wage jobs across the country. Written in response to 1996 welfare reform, the book offers a serious critique of the current economic system, which Ehrenreich argues preys on the poor.

An obvious Cloward-Piven apostle. Scratch deeply enough, and there will be a Soros laundered financial contribution which made the book possible at all. Clearly, it has zero academic benefit.

The poor can no more be "preyed upon" than the government can "pay" for a tax cut.

The best action that working taxpayers can take to "help the poor" has always been not to become one of them.

Only in the insane world of political activism can "preying" be defined as preventing idle predators from stealing more.
Or defining resisting "paying" as insisting that elected (lying) criminals take less of people's hard-earned money, at the point of many guns.

The minimum was was NEVER meant to provide a "living wage". It is a STARTING POINT for unskilled, inexperienced workers. Anyone who stays at this level for an extended period of time is usually, a) young and at a transient point in their life, b) satisfied with minimum wage and wants nothing more, c) has some serious social/personal/legal problems and cannot find a better job.

Well it looks like the dtr - Rosa Brooks, is a Special Counsel to Obama - she is closely linked to Soros via OSI...

The William J. Clinton Foundation is a major funder of Soros’ OSI...it’s a full circle with these people.

“The parents of a Bedford teen are calling for the ouster of school officials who assigned their son a book that refers to Jesus Christ as a “wine-guzzling vagrant and precocious socialist.”

They would not ever DARE assign such a reading about Mad Mo Mo. THey would not DARE.

I read the book’s synopsis. The author worked 2 minimum wage jobs in each of 3 cities and wrote about it. That is is. There is NOTHING about finance in the book. There is nothing a student of Finance could learn from the book.

I am a 52 year old licensed Civil Engineer. I would be ruined by what passes for education today. Just ruined. It is no wonder the USA is circling the toilet bowl. The socialist left has ruined most of an entire generation of American. Sorry, there is no recovering from that.
