I dont live in the southwest nor do I have small children (they are older, tho I still worry plenty). If I did live in the southwest, I suspect my attitude might be different regarding childsafety.
The government hasn't been concerned about securing our borders, even after 9/11.
My governor, Rick Perry, at one point spent millions of taxpayer money on these idiotic webcams rather than actual flesh and blood law encorcement because he didn't want to secure our borders - too many of his donors rely on illegal labor. When there was a recent murder along the border, thanks to it being close to the election, Perry was all over the place talking about securing our border and bitching about Obama.
He was never like this when Bush was in the White House. Hell, back in July or August of this year, he wasn't that upset about border security - there was a teenage Texas girl kidnapped from Texas and taken to Mexico and Rick Perry was nowhere to be found. We started getting close to the election, somebody was murdered and an attractive blond woman was all over the TV crying about Mexican pirates killing her husband and all of the sudden Rick Perry decided to care. After the election, he has went back to not caring.
Our borders are never going to be secure as long as the companies and rich people who benefit from illegal aliens continue to throw money at our politicians.

Maybe I am profoundly an idiot. Maybe not. That has nothing to do with the truth of what I wrote.
To: Luke21
I didn’t say the kid was a homicidal maniac. I just said children can be homicidal maniacs, too.
To: Hulka
Reading comprehension is evidently not a strong suit at FR.
I wrote that young children can be homicidal maniacs, too. That’s all. And it is true.

Everyone in fly-over country is in an uproar over this....
I pray that you are right, but there was so little uproar over the PATRIOT Act, there was so little uproar over subsequent legislation and executive orders, there was so little uproar when a few years ago under Bush, the government decided it had the right to search our laptops when we travel, including looking through our email, photos, and personal documents.
I was under a different handle on freep back then, but when PATRIOT Act was pushed through by Bush and his buddies in Congress, I remember a lot of people ridiculing us for daring to question Bush and his cronies as well as questioning why Bush wasn't working to secure our borders.
Bush had 6-7 years to secure the borders, and Obama has had a few years, and nothing has really been done. God only knows what has been smuggled across the border while law abiding Americans are being searched in a vicious manner.
Don't think this will stop with laptop searches and little boys being assaulted in our airports by the TSA. If you think this will be the end of it, you will be sadly mistaken. Our grandchildren and their grandchildren will curse our names for letting Bush and then Obama do this to us. When Bush and Congress created the Department of Homeland Security, Conservatives should have been 100% against it, because deep down we all knew this was coming.
At some point, the government will probably reserve the right to start stopping cars traveling between states and searching them. All it takes is one terrorist to drive around and the government will tell us that they have to start assuming all drivers on our interstates are potential terrorists.

BTW, not often I, as a great granny, get called Hey, Buddy - talk about assuming - LOL pathetic The word buddy is mainly non-gender used, for someone to call me pathetic I would figure you would google the word first to know this.
http://www.tfd.com/buddy
Chiefly US and Canadian an informal word for friend.
1. A good friend; a comrade. 2. A partner, especially one of a pair or team associated under the buddy system. 3. Friend or comrade; chum. Used as a form of familiar address, especially for a man or boy:
Not until the 3rd most popular meaning is it described as gender related.
Go troll someone else now.

I took ted’s comment as sarcasm at first, but seeing his/her subsequent defense, I think Newguy357 hit the nail on the head.

What I wrote is true, whether or not people like it.
To: Soothesayer9
Yup,
But the nice thing about free speech is it allows people to say what they mean. So we all know what they think.

Oh, and you mean this language from Newguy357:
“Bullshit. Im tired of this retarded line. Conservatives hated Bush. Thats why he left office with 20% approval. He didnt even have the conservative base. The only people he had left were the diehard moronic party-line republicans, who, just like the party-line democrats, continue thoughtlessly voting for their R or D because daddy did. Assholes like you take so much joy in trying to smugly pointing out conservative hypocrisy like this, but its a load of crap. All the final conservative hold outs abandoned Bush by the time of Harriet Miers. ”
I am sure he is very proud of his comment. Good news is he can’t delete it.

Your post about "TSA AGENTS TOOK MY SON" was found to be stretching the truth.
The original author even somewhat admits it when pressed.
http://www.mybottlesup.com/2009/10/my-apologies/
For the other side of the story, TSA released all video (from like 7 cameras) for you to see for yourself.

Like I said in my previous posts. FR needs to focus on the truth and not hyperbole.

I agree there has been too little too late regarding the usurping of our Constitutionally granted liberties. I believe that the aTea Party movement has brought a refocusing of priorities.
As Jefferson said, A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.” I think that wise saying will be a Christmas present to my kids—bumper stickers, wall hanging, etc.
Many usurpitations of our liberty are incremental and don’t “touch” people immediately or directly, but these TSA directives are direct and immediate TOUCHES—I hope the people get a clue.
I am calling my Rep and asking them to defund this. NOW. Nearly nude scans, grope exams, $11,000 fines, this is outrageous!!!! We need to be heard. If FR folks can vote for Bristol Palin on DWTS, I hope they will take time to call their Congresscritters and complain!!

Your logic is absolutely true. There is no end once the camel has its nose in the tent.... This will ultimately be used in train travel, bus travel, concert and pro-sport veues, etc. They will check cars traveling too—Unless the driver happens to be an illegal alien :( Then the police will let them thru....Seems they won’t institute any additional security on our borders—in fact they are removing National Guard.

"Could they arrest every single one of us, if we ALL started hauling off and slugging these motherf*****s?" I know this, if that had been my kid I would be behind bars right now and at least one of those TSA thugs would have made a fast trip to the ER.
This better stop soon or I am afraid serious blood will be spilled.

What I wrote is true, whether or not people like it. And what you wrote is...
Psssst...young children can be homicidal maniacs, too. That being said, at least strip search him in private.
psst... Again, I thought you were being sarcastic in what you wrote, but as you continue, now it just seems weird. It should be clear to you that we are not at war with homicidal children, so the notion that it is okay to strip search a child because someone thinks he just might be a homicidal maniac in league with terrorist just sounds perverted. Evidently, that is not so clear to you. Count me as one of those people who don't like what you wrote.
To: af_vet_rr
Sadly, your assessment of the border seems accurate. Hope that will change in time. Tho people in the southwest are directly impacted, everyone who is here legally is impact ed in one way or another.

This is what you wrote to me. Proud of it?
Yes, after reading your subsequent reply. You have proven the words true--asshole. You spout off from your podium pointing fingers of blame about "where it all started" historically rather than uncompromisingly opposing the tyranny. There is no justification for this except to draw attention to yourself. I'm sorry you're so unloved. If you weren't such an ass you would find it easier to make friends.
