Vanity: Fox News Panelist Liz Trotta Agrees With Karl Rove: Palin's Alaska Is Unpresidential

Posted on 11/13/2010 12:38:19 PM PST by Retired Intelligence Officer

I was appalled at Liz Trotta and 3 other conservative guest panelist (that I couldn't name) on this afternoons Fox newswatch hosted by Jon Scott all agreed that Palins new reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska on the Discovery Channel was very unpresidential and it would sink her any chances for the White House.

The topic was that liberal advocacy groups were asking for the Discovery Channel to pull the plug on it. The consevative commentator Liz Trotta then said that she agreed with Karl Rove that this was a bad move for Palin. Trotta then goes on to take a pop shot at Palin saying "everytime this woman opens her mouth that her numbers go down". She then said "the more she speaks that she makes people simply not like her". Jon Scott did not ask Trotta why this was just like yesterday when Megyn Kelly didn't ask Meghan McCain why she thought Palin would be best as a reality star.

My question is why is Fox news who hired Sarah Palin allowing conservative guest freely without explanation to back up their facts to trash her and her message in a public forum? Why are they allowing people to tarnish her reputation as well as her new TV program which they advertize during commercial time? Something smells

Quitting isn’t an option in politics

Neither is clinging on to power for dear life, while you're being bankrupted by political operatives.

She’s representing the Neilsen ratings now. And general other fans. She did quit the one thing she truly represented though as a governor.

"She’s a multimillionare TV celebrity. If that’s not the ‘elite ruling class’, what is?"

Now, you're really reaching. She is of ordinary middle-class background, not from the upper class like Kerry, the Bushes, and Kennedy. She went to normal colleges, not the Ivy League. Her wealth, such as it is, has come in the past year as the result of her celebrity; it was not inherited. Her TV show hasn't even started yet, and how much money she gets from that is speculation, as far as I know. And since she's not ruling anything, and doesn't come from a family political or industrial dynasty, she is by definition not a member of "the ruling class."

Thank you for stating what has angered me from the start. These elites have no right telling us who we can vote for. They did the same mess last election we ended up with their idiot McCain. Well guess what, we’re not democrats. We won’t roll over and vote the way our “betters” demand.

Instead of keeping an open mind, I’ve already decided I’m voting for Palin whether she runs or not. It is these same idiots that have caused me to come to this conclusion. If they are all so much against her, there must be a reason. Why attack a mother of five children so viciously? Why berate her, her husband and her children? Their attacks are not normal. They are bowels of hell type evil and vicious. If the old deluder, hates her so much he’s launched an all out attack, then she gets my support.

I really don’t care what any RINO elite has to say.

It’s amazing that we have FReepers actually falling prey to the lamestream and she has not announced her decision!
DWTS is a huge indication of her nationwide popularity and her new series which debuts tomorrow night,, will be another smash hit. Good grief. Campaigns and selling yourself to the viewers and the electorate has changed and Sarah Palin is way ahread of the “others” whomever, whoever, in the heck they are...lol.

The lamestream presented Sarah Palin in ‘08 and tried to destroy her, now in 2010 SARAH PALIN PRESENTS SARAH PALIN and gets paid, too....LOL.

Rove is right. Instead of doing sincere shows about her home state of Alaska on TLC, Palin should be doing things to look more "Presidential" like this...

Bankrupted? Was she down to unemployment level money? In danger of losing her house?

Oh, you mean smear campaigns against her. Right. Nobody can take that stuff and live. Better to quit.

I know I am going to get attacked for this but it is how I feel

Oh you're not alone. Many of us love Sarah, but don't think that being POTUS is the best "fit" for her. I really don't want to go into a list of why I feel that way, but the first obstacle is just being a woman. I think even in our day and age it'll still be difficult for a woman to become President, and especially one that has been as polarizing as she has been. She's doing great doing what she's doing.

It wasn’t slime that was thrown at her, it was bankruptcy. Will you support her? When you have hostile political operative that are willing to abuse the legal system to ruin someone. What else was she suppose to do?

Are these pundits so jaded they think everybody is politicking all the time?

Well, I'm that jaded...especially if they're a career politician. Haven't made my mind up about Palin...all the face time on camera is beginning to make me wonder if she's not always in campaign mode.

I love sarah and her politics. But she really needs to tone down the perkiness for more people to take her seriously. She seems to have ratcheted it up here lately.

For the 4th time. What is it about her exectutive record at policy making as governor that would not make her qualified to be president. Please answer Tolsti2

Haley is great, absolutely. But U.S. voters won’t elect him with his accent. (And I’m from Mississippi myself and hate this fact. But truth is the U.S. voter considers image too much rather than heart/mind.)

You betcha! The haters of the world are furious and I vote for Bristol too! We need to get her into the finals. She’s worked very hard and she’s gained a lot of self-confidence. Watch Monday and GO Bristol!

I said I’d support her, and I did in 08. I just don’t fall for this pity party and worship for her. It’s silly. She hasn’t exactly earned any following as far as I can tell. It’s a cultish weird thing and media senationalism. People need to check their thinking when it comes to this stuff.

Sarah Palin is nowhere near Obama on economic and social issues.

When I say "Obamania," I'm talking about you. You're so into Sarah Palin's charisma, that her similarity to Obama in minor matters like "lack of experience" doesn't even register with you. She says things you like, so in your mind that somehow makes her qualified to lead a country that is in serious trouble.

Well, son, that's what happened last time around, and you see how that turned out. Maybe Ms. Palin would do OK .... but you're betting the country based on your hopes and her "charisma," rather than looking at anything so mundane as a concrete and sustained record of accomplishment and executive leadership -- which Sarah Palin does not have.

But hey -- you called folks like me "cowards." If it's cowardly to go for somebody who you already know can do the job -- then send me the biggest damned yellow stripe you can find.
