Vanity: Fox News Panelist Liz Trotta Agrees With Karl Rove: Palin's Alaska Is Unpresidential

Posted on 11/13/2010 12:38:19 PM PST by Retired Intelligence Officer

I was appalled at Liz Trotta and 3 other conservative guest panelist (that I couldn't name) on this afternoons Fox newswatch hosted by Jon Scott all agreed that Palins new reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska on the Discovery Channel was very unpresidential and it would sink her any chances for the White House.

The topic was that liberal advocacy groups were asking for the Discovery Channel to pull the plug on it. The consevative commentator Liz Trotta then said that she agreed with Karl Rove that this was a bad move for Palin. Trotta then goes on to take a pop shot at Palin saying "everytime this woman opens her mouth that her numbers go down". She then said "the more she speaks that she makes people simply not like her". Jon Scott did not ask Trotta why this was just like yesterday when Megyn Kelly didn't ask Meghan McCain why she thought Palin would be best as a reality star.

My question is why is Fox news who hired Sarah Palin allowing conservative guest freely without explanation to back up their facts to trash her and her message in a public forum? Why are they allowing people to tarnish her reputation as well as her new TV program which they advertize during commercial time? Something smells

What is it that you think she is not qualified? Is it her record as governor?

I like Palin. She is the only person right to tackle the MSM & certainly she would be better than the current one. Having said that, ANY candidate has to have the “establishment” support if that ‘s what it is called. Without Party establishment support, NO candidate can win the election. Winning nomination is one thing & election is another.

I think you have it backwards.

The "establishment" R's needs to shut up and let the rank and file pick the candidate.

Quitting isn’t an option in politics, no matter the slime thrown at you. I don’t get this whole thing, it’s a baffling media circus.

Governor Reagan riding horses at his ranch is OK but Palin fishing and hiking in Alaska is not?

BS. They just don’t like her because she didn’t attend the America-hating Ivy league.

I didn’t say she’s not qualified. I just think there are better choices than her. At worst she is disqualifying herself by this TV garbage, her family crap, her lousy interviews early on, and so on.

At best, what did she really do? Some good speeches? Hell, I’ve seen better stuff on here and have done as good conservative talking. What has she really done that puts her above anyone else?

Right now I don’t have a candidate yet. The GOP field is wide open as far as I can tell, which is kinda scary when we’re getting closer to 2012 every day. I just don’t think Palin is the one to beat hussein. If she’s nominated, I’ll throw 110% behind her. I’m just very wary now.

Karl Rove is hoping Mitt Romney will hire him in his presidential campaign. What Karl doesn’t get is that I have as much chance of getting the nomination as Romney has. Actually, I have a better chance because I’m not a liberal from MA that passed that albatross, RomneyCare.

People act like Trotta’s reaction to Sarah is because of this “Reality show” please, don’t take my word for it, Liz Trotta has NEVER said one kind word about Sarah Palin..from the moment she was announced as McCain’s running mate this hateful witch went on MSNBC and trashed her. So her saying this because of her new show is ridiculous. This woman(And I am being nice when I say this) has never uttered one nice word about Sarah Palin, not one..she is a hateful, bitter, elitist snob who probably has an Obama cardboard cutout in her bedroom. So according to Liz Trotta, every time Palin opens her mouth people like her less, Oh really Liz, let’s see, out of ALL of the candidates she endorsed, only 3 did not win, I’d take that as a huge victory..and her books, they get sold out before the release date is even announced..WOW for someone who is unpopular I wish I was that unpopular

shes not a part of the establishment. shes a free spirit.

Rove's lack of objectivity is showing, isn't it.

That is why all the Rinos are on the panic attack. They fear she will be successful as the Tea Party was.

"Wow. That's foreign policy for ya!"

The way you get foreign policy experience is by being in Washington, but Obama is the first senator elected president since Kennedy, and he was a novice with basically zero foreign policy experience. But no journalist ever asked him the question they asked Palin, to put her on the spot.

Since Kennedy, we have mainly elected governors as president: Carter, Reagan, Clinton, GW Bush. Obviously, foreign policy experience was not something they had. Nixon and Bush Sr and LBJ were the only post-Kennedy presidents who were really steeped in foreign policy experience.

I don’t agree that she’s ‘not a part’ of the media circus. In fact, she’s planted herself right in it now.

If not going to a certain school and being a conservative is a virtue, then any 10000 freepers are qualified.

What next, she’s not a felon? How low do we have to go?

Obama can’t even recite his own damn name without a teleprompter and people want to say that Sarah Palin is unqualified to be President..I find that laughable.

True. If all voters voted on principles, I think she would win. Wish that would happen, but seems like some minds can be manipulated through the MSM.

If TV did not exist, she would win easily. Who knows, though, if TV did not exist, most of the country would still be unfamiliar with her. So, it’s a double-edged sword.

But I still say she is too good for D.C. They don’t deserve her.

Liz Trotta has never had anything good to say about Palin, I think she is very put off by Trig as she has made snide comments about him in the past.

Hey, that must mean that every time Bristol dances, people hate her more too?

Maybe that’s why she’s the top vote getter? So many people hate her Mom they vote for Bristol....lol. Geez, these PDSers are dumb.
