The Pentagon Tuesday said it was trying to determine if a missile was launched Monday off the coast of Southern California and who might have launched it.

Thank you for your post. From your screen name I trust that you know what you’re talking about.
Now, why in the heck haven’t our flipping leaders been straight up with us?
Seen many missile launches? You think they are going Mach 5 from the get-go? Takes them a while to get even up to airliner speed. They do indeed look quite slow, and continue to look slow as they head farther away from you. About the only time I saw one move fast was after watching it into the upper atmosphere or near space, and something separated, like a MIRV. The two parts diverged very fast. Believe me, I have seen a lot of launches.
Like a Loan Shark spitting in your face.
>The NTSB, FAA, and to some degree the FBI, come off as compliant, obedient, boot licking fools.
Using Occam’s Razor we’d say that the most likely explanation is: “Because they are.”
Ok,
That settles that question...then if a NOTAM was filed....that leaves US entities. Somebody just began a private space program...look for some consortium of Silicon Valley billionaires to be high-fiving each other real soon.
>When TWA 800 went down (off Long Island) there were close to 100 eyewitnesses who saw a missile rise up from the sea and strike the plane, causing it to explain.
>A careful government investigation determined that this did not happen, and that a spark in the center fuel tank was the actual cause of the explosion.
>Because we don’t have terrorists launching missiles right off our coasts. That doesn’t happen. Ever. I mean it.
Because, I should guess, that the APPEARANCE of security is far greater a thing than ACTUAL security.
IOW, it’s about “saving face;” we cannot, at any point, allow those with political power/connections to be “wrong,” or worse: “embarrassed.”
Don’t worry. Iran has been testing medium range missile launches from barges. They couldn’t park one off of the California coast, could they?
I think he said we would “absorb” the next attack.
FUBO
I have seen MANY launches. Back in the 70s I saw a Sprint air defense missile launch. That thing was FAST! Just like a small Estes rocket. Everything on-board the Sprint was made to withstand a 100 G acceleration. Yes, 100 Gs.
I don’t know.
We had to pass Obamacare to find out what’s in it, but we still don’t know,
I’m sure we’ll find out soon - my bet is hyperinflation and economic collapse.
Can you say, “Weimar Republic?”
I agree, there certainly weren't any reports on the longevity of that rocket and if it was some sort of "show of force" I would consider it a dud.
One only has to go to youtube and search model rockets and clubs to see how advanced these hobbyists are............
Have some Poki? You may see it as "Pocky."(
Thank you for your experience-based take on this. So you are as puzzled as anyone that this isn’t yet explained?
Carnival cruise ship off San Diego has trouble last night (engines out - stranding 1400 passengers), and now this thing about a mystery missile.
What is going on? Kim Jong-Il has been busy...
That NOTAM was for an “unmanned aircraft” not a missile.
Well, he DOES get ronery...
NSA staff do not wear uniforms identifying them as ‘NSA’. Many of the NSA staff are US Navy personnel and do, on a daily basis, wear the appropriate Uniform of the Day. When putting on your tinfoil hat kindly check your basic facts so your paranoia can at least have a ring of plausibility to it, eh?
That’s my take. Saying “We didn’t do this...” was not our military’s greatest hour, without some answers in hand.
Makes you wonder what we spend those trillions for anyway.
Not a warning about the weapon but about the commander. It would be a very clumsy warning.
When there’s a fool in command it sure makes it hard to figure out what’s going on.
