** not to mention the nuke defensive glitch in Wyoming a few weeks ago.**

Is it possible that this was another country hacking our system to see if it could be brought down and for how long? The fact that this glitch happens out west and then there is the slim possibility that someone has a sub of our west coast is making sh*t get real. Maybe someone is getting ready to shut our defenses down so they can start lobbing missiles? Nah

This from another thread just posted should start raising concerns:

The Pentagon said Tuesday that a missile launch off the southern coast of California remained “unexplained” and that its mysterious origins meant that it was not possible to rule out any threat to the homeland, Fox News Channel reported.

I haven’t been in a plane since 9/11. Skype works just fine. And for Disney World and such, we drive.

May have been wrong about just a big ol’ sub based missile being launched against the blue UFO. Maybe it was the blue UFO!

??? the “warning” hypothesis makes no sense at all

it’s way too insignificant a “test” to be a warning to anyone

who exactly is supposed to be impressed by this?

and what is impressive about the US military saying we have no idea where this came from or what exactly it is or why it was launched?

the “warning” bit makes no sense to me

The Marshall Islands are approximately 7,000 miles from LA. How exactly can you tell from the video and pictures that it was heading to a specific island that far away?

Sorry but the flame signature at the flight end says rocket. Looks like everything I’ve seen take off from KSC or the Eastern test range.

The “Kwaj” is a 4500 mile trek from the California coast.

Looking at the video and the coast line I took an educated guess that if it was a US sub launch it would be going there as that is the target area for our missile tests. The entire area there is instrumented so we can evaluate the accuracy of the RVs.

Loverly, And now, folks are saying there were no NOTAMS for the area. Yeah, this just gets curiouser and curiouser. OldMissileer says it looks to him like an SLBN, but isn't the holy grail of any missile test the flight telemetry? And wouldn't a test by a foreign power off our coast expose such telemetry? Yep, we know the various test range equipment was cold when the launch occurred, but how fast was it powered up? Can it be turned on in a hurry?

In short, the fact there was civil traffic in the area means it wasn't a US entity that fired whatever the hell that was. It's the only explanation. No responsible US entity would have failed to file a NOTAM with the FAA before a shot, simply because aircraft in the area are just too risky...so, it was either a irresponsible US entity...which makes me wonder what idiot did this...or a foreign entity, which makes me rather concerned the Chinese did just send us a message, the Norks can't do this, neither can Iran. So who does that leave?

Maybe you have better eyes than I, but I can’t see it.

Here’s the best video I’ve found of it:

It could be an amateur rocket launch. Not the Estes variety, the big 10 ft. variety of a serious hobbyist.

Yep, I suspect that's exactly what it is.........Cheers for the old professor to get his last 15 minutes of fame "surmising" it might be a submarine missile launch as a show of force............

...folks are saying there were no NOTAMS for the area.

Yeah, well, that just goes to show ya not ta always believe what "folks are saying." HERE'S your supposedly-nonexistent NOTAM, for the LA area. Note especially the effective dates, and how they nicely bracket the time this "mysterious object" appeared in the sky: 14:30 NOV 8 until 19:30 NOV 10.
