Republican Marco Rubio now enjoys a 20-point advantage over Independent candidate Charlie Crist in the U.S. Senate race in Florida, with Democratic Congressman Kendrick Meek still running third.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the Sunshine State finds Rubio picking up 50% of the vote, while Crist, Florida's current GOP governor, receives 30% support. Meek picks up 16% support, his worst showing since early July. One percent (1%) prefers some other candidate, and another three percent (3%) are still undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
This race remains Solid Republican in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings. Earlier last week, Rubio held a 43% to 32% lead over Crist, with Meek earning 20% support.

On the upside, at least Crist will have more time to spend in tanning booths.

I’d like Rubio to give the GOP response to Obama’s next State of the Union.

Well good luck to you. I hope you can defeat Obama’s interests down there related to 2012. And go Rubio...
We’ve got some nominees out here in California that drive to me to distraction too. Oh well...

I don’t know if you’ve heard Rubio’s radio ads (I suspect his TV ads are similar but I don’t watch), Rubio has the “It’s morning in America” feel to them. I hope he turns out to be what he appears. I could support him a long way.

Amen. We dont need to re-fight 2008, but if Romney had been the nominee instead of McCain, when the financial disaster hit, Romney would have been able to run against Washington, rather than be a part of it. His economic bona fides would also have been superior to McCain, for sure
LOL. This is the funniest thing I've read in a while.

Thanks Chet 99. Here's an interesting thing from August 19, 2009:
- Election 2010: Florida Senate (Conservative Rubio beats Democrat Meek 43% to 30%) -- A new Rasmussen Reports survey of Florida voters show Crist with a 19-point lead over Meek -- 48% to 29%. Ten percent (10%) like some other candidate, and 13% are not sure... [Meek] doesn't fare much better when pitted against the other prominent Republican seeking his party's Senate nomination, Marco Rubio. The former state House Speaker defeats Meek 43% to 30%, with eight percent (8%) opting for some other candidate and 19% undecided.

Rubio could rob a bank and get caught with a hooker and he would still win.I don't think so... mostly because that would mean he is a Democrat.
