Republican Marco Rubio now enjoys a 20-point advantage over Independent candidate Charlie Crist in the U.S. Senate race in Florida, with Democratic Congressman Kendrick Meek still running third.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the Sunshine State finds Rubio picking up 50% of the vote, while Crist, Florida's current GOP governor, receives 30% support. Meek picks up 16% support, his worst showing since early July. One percent (1%) prefers some other candidate, and another three percent (3%) are still undecided. This race remains Solid Republican in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings. Earlier last week, Rubio held a 43% to 32% lead over Crist, with Meek earning 20% support.

Just color that Quisp spray-on orange and I think we have a winner!!!
Hey, come on! I don't like the in-u-endo!
“seems like a natural for tight-end, wide receiver”
LOL, kromike!!
This poll was taken on Oct 27th before last nights flap, so i bet Rubio is even more ahead now.
“Crisp! ha ha, hes toast!”
Agreed! (But get out there and vote first!;)
Rubio could rob a bank and get caught with a hooker and he would still win.
I wont be shocked if Crist the Crisp is a CNN employee in a year. Not wild left enough for MSNBC, the “independent centrist” fits CNN’s model celebrity.
A tale of greedy person. If he just wait until Ben Nelson’s term expires in 2012, he might be elected senator from FL. I really doubt FL will go 0bama again next time, so his anti-coattail might help whoever Republican candidate that year.
Rubio’s past 50%, that’s the important thing. Nobody will be able to see Quentin Crisp would’ve beaten him without Meek in the picture.
For “see” I meant of course SAY.
Sheesh, preview it dummy.
Crisp? Quentin Crisp? Isn’t he a homosexual?
Look for a Romney/Crist ticket in 2012.
Crisp? as in Snap,Crapple and Pop?
Oh yeah! Goodbye Charlie!
Maybe after he gets whooped big time he can drop the facade and go join Barney Fwank and be part of the Butt Boys Fun Carnival and live happy ever after.
I have been predicting Rubio will hit 50%. With this poll, I have to wonder what will happen with Crist’s support. Spoiler independents almost always poll much higher than their actual vote.
I said the final would be Rubio 50%, Meeks 30%, and Crist 20%. Meeks has lived up to his name, and seems unable to even get all of the hard-core progressives into his camp. Meanwhile, some of Crist’s moderate Republican vote may shift to the perceived winner, and some may not vote.
I now think Rubio will hit close to 55% in the actual election.
The really scary part is that if he would have taken his loss like a man and waited, the GOP would have all but guaranteed him a Senate seat in the next election.
“Rubio could rob a bank and get caught with a hooker and he would still win.”
Or at least run for Pres. as a Democrat and get every single delegate in the country.
I now want Meeks to finish ahead of Crist. I guess that would be greedy to hope for but watching him finish third would be beautiful.
I like to call him Charlie Crust because on Tuesday he’s toast.
