Please check out the provision for a Commissioned Corps and Ready Reserve Corps. in the healthcare bill. I don't know what it has to do with healthcare but it sounds an awful lot like Obama just got his own personal militia.

The Corps you mentions has been around since the 1700’s they were organizaed into a commissioned officer service in 1889. They do a lot of good.... do some research before posting such crap.... see www.usphs.gov or simply google USPHS Commissioned Corps.

I’m not getting that impression. I just think we have a lot of FReepers who are very sensitive to the “kook” label (hence the dismissive references to tinfoil hats and black helicopters).

I might be sympathetic to that sensitivity if the President himself didn’t explicitly promise to create a new domestic military force on the campaign trail... but he did. And I know damn well that he meant it.

The bottom line is, hell’s coming. It’s understandable that people don’t want to recoginize it. Sometimes I wish I didn’t recognize it myself.

0thugga made clear his intention to establish a civilian security force as strong, well-trained and well-funded (read: armed) as the U.S. military. The language needed to make it happen will be scattered among thousands of pages in multiple, unrelated bills and amendments to existing law. But make no mistake, the pieces are being put into place, and it will happen. He didn’t say it for nothing.
