A man is being questioned by police after trying to force his way into the cockpit of a plane flying from Cardiff to the Canary Islands.
He was overpowered and restrained by passengers and flight attendants on the 0810 GMT Thomson Airways service.
He was arrested by police when the aircraft landed safely at Las Palmas airport in Gran Canaria.
Thomson Airways said the man "demonstrated aggressive behaviour towards customers and crew".
The company said: "Thomson Airways can confirm that a passenger became disruptive during flight TOM 6102, flying from Cardiff to Las Palmas airport, Gran Canaria, on 25 January, 2010.

They may not be willing to strip search passengers before boarding but the first time I see a passenger go jihadist, he’s losing his attire before being hogtied to his seat. Take no changes on Fruit of Kaboom underwear or concealed weaponry.

Why would anyone ever want to fly
Thomson Airways again after calling a 'man'
who stormed the cockpit simply "
disruptive?"
Avoid this airline, live another day.

Even if this bum is not a terrorist, it's time for the law to really punish these folks... no slaps on the wrist, no mental review. These guys need to be jailed, maybe some hard labor? Nah...guess hard labor would be called cruel and unusual punishment. But it seems to me that we are letting too many of these incidents go on without the right punishment. Perhaps if people really paid for their antics, they might think twice before they do stupid stuff like this.
An even better punishment: lock the guy in a room with more than a few of the passengers he has inconvenienced. Arm those passengers with baseball bats and let them have a go at him.

When are the ragheads going to learn that the days of passengers sitting quitely while they take over the plane ended on 9-11.
They are not stupid and they have figured this out. So they will change tactics-

Let me guess.
A Muslim male between 17 and 40 years of age, flying on a one-way ticket paid in cash.

Im always amazed that these would-be terrorists survive being overpowered by the other passengers. I'll second that, of course there's no concrete floors, brick, or metal. It's all tight quarters - plastic and upholstery. By grappling with him, you'd probably naturally wind up restraining him until he submits and is bound. I'd guess that an incidental death during a struggle most often occurs from either hitting your head or being choked. So, since there's not too much in the way of metal, brick, or concrete you smash a head against, unless they're choking him out they'd probably have to make a conscious decision to kill him there on the spot, and your average joe is probably content to just beat him until he's whimpering or not moving.

Muslims need to go through intensive screening and then be made to sit in the back of the Airbus.

Hmmm, incidents like this are becoming LESS ‘extremely rare,’ I think is how they should have worded it.
At this rate, soon enough the airlines should be PAYING folks to fly. I mean, how much do Air Marshalls make? And if We the People are part of the defense plan, as obama (little o, not a god) et al. have made clear, why, then, we demand union wages. And benefits.
