In May 2009, a remarkably well-preserved extinct primate, nicknamed Ida, was hailed as one of the most important fossil finds ever. It had features that some interpreted as a link between two primate body forms. At the time, ICR News suggested that its evolutionary significance was far overblown, predicting that the scientific consensus would offer retractions. Those retractions came three months later, confirming that the fossil―called Darwinius―was really just an extinct lemur variety...

A humoristic strawman! Now that's a great way of illustrating your thought processes.
“Well seing how we are now routinely finding dinos with rotting soft-tissue still intact, perhaps its time we gave some of the assumptions contained in the Flinstones a second look :o)”
I happen to know a few things about molecular quantum mechanics, radioactivity, decay rates and the like, so as long as we’re open to empirical methods and don’t decide the issue one way or another in advance, I’m all for it.
We can also use evidence from other areas of study, including plate tectonics, cosmology, genetics, and so forth. For example, we’re capable of devising tests to see if the universe is expanding or contracting.
My main beef with the creationists isn’t with their conclusions; it is that they decide empirical issues in advance without experiment or observation, only because of a previous commitment to Koranic or Biblical inerrancy.
Perhaps we should refer to their sect as the “No True Scotsman” Christians.
Like acid coexists with base??????? Got chemistry?? Acid coexists so well with base such that I have to keep them completely separated in different chemical cabinets, lest we have some mixing going on.
This really is simple chemistry.
>> They read that in a comic strip someone handed out to them that Catholics are evil spawn of the Devil, didnt you know that....
Actually, I believe they leave those as tips in place of money for hard working waitresses after Sunday service. <<
I have seen this done by other people before and they are usually the type of person who will screw you over six days of the week and then they go to church on the seventh and think that makes them a good Cristian. I have a few of these types in my family and they are the first to act like offended Muslims whenever you call them out on their bad behavior towards others during the other six days of the week.
My sister and her good for nothing husband are just like this, our family spent time and effort to help get them setup in farming they it only took them Seven years to piss it all away so badly they had to sell the farm and declare bankruptcy. He lied to the bank to get that far and their house was in a deplorable condition at the end of those seven years. They always “put on a good front” when they went into town, but they lived in utter filth and mold. When they moved out and our family realized what horrendous conditions they were living in I called CPS on them because I was genuinely concerned about their many children. They are scammers to the core, but I guess every Sunday they are SAVED. so they makes it all A-OK.
AGW - man-made theory, baseless in fact, requires disbelief in actual readings of climate, requires belief that man could destroy the planet - cult-like
Evolution - man-made theory, baseless in fact, requires disbelief in tha Bible, requires belief that man is not divinely made, just another animal - cult-like
I see that you are one of them.
Your god is limited by your need to have a small, fallible god with all the foibles of a human born in sin.
God did it like he said he did. He is incapable of deception.
>> Acid does not coexist with base.
If it tries, it becomes ColdWater.
Thank you! Ill be here through Tuesday! Tip your waitresswith money! <<
Usually there is an energy release and you are left with Water and salt in an ionic solution, so you get “Salt Water” may not be H2O + NaCl but Salt water nonetheless.
Salty warm/hot water.....every time I try it, I simply cannot get acid and base to coexist.
There is no such thing as science without assumptions. The question is, does the empirical evidence confirm or falsify said assumptions. I have been following the Creation/Evolution debate closely for years, and I can honestly say that I am persuaded that the evidence for creation is far stronger than the evidence for (macro)evolution in virtually all areas of science. But when I make such a claim the evos jump all over me and either call me a liar, or deluded, or both.
OK, I’ll type slow so you can follow me.
You, Cold Water, If you are Catholic (or not) and spreading doctrine counter to the Bbile, then you are an adversary AND of the adversary.
Clear enough?
An extinct species.
An existing kind.
Christianity—belief in God.
Scientology—belief in God.
My basis for comparison is just as sound as yours.
Christianity is not understanding of teachings counter to the Bible. Evolution is false, and homosexuality, lying, adultery are sins. I know that seems harsh, but that is what Gods Word says (OT and NT for you word-splitters out there).
Enhance your calm.
This is how life is in the creationist camp.
Imagine having to believe that toasters are magic. ;)
If you understand that, then you should be able to understand the whole post!
See your tagline. If required I can copy and paste from our past exchanges.
Tough audience!
Except that Scientology does not believe in God—they believe in aliens.
