PARKLAND, Wash. - Four police officers were shot and killed in a Sunday morning ambush at a Parkland-area coffee shop, officials said.
Pierce County Sheriff's Office spokesman Ed Troyer called the ambush "a targeted attack."
Officials at the scene said two gunmen burst into the Forza Coffee Co. outlet at 11401 Steele St. South, shot the four uniformed officers as they were working on their laptop computers, then fled the scene.
Other customers were inside the coffee shop at the time of the attack, but none of them were shot or injured.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of the suspects, Troyer said.
Emergency personnel rushed to the scene after receiving a report that multiple officers were shot and killed in the ambush at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, according to reports from the scene.
Within minutes, hundreds of investigators and police were rushing to the scene. Roads were blocked in the vicinity of the attack.
One witness who was driving past said he saw an officer on the ground just after the shootings.
Authorities later closed off the air space over the scene of the shootings.
That would be the FRICTION of war. People continually talk about the FOG of war, but the Prussian who is given credit for coining the term never talked of fog other than it being a meteorlogical even, low clouds. FRICTION, on the overhand are the physical impediments in accomplishing a task or winning a war and FRICTION is what the Prussian General continually wrote of.
I just had to point that out.
Bump to the top.
Thanks! Doesn’t sound quite as snappy in English, but it’s probably more accurate.
To keep the many local media copters from hogging all the air space during the search, perhaps.
Sheriffs are generally very dispersed and usually alone, and not a lot of them get killed, but it is very dangerous because they’re usually out in the woods by themselves. As I said, this is unusual.
If there was indeed one black and one white involved, I’d suspect meth. If there’s only one gunman and he’s black, I’d suspect something else, either sudden jihad syndrome or somebody copy-catting that other recent Washington cop killer.
On laptops, one on the ground outside, closed the airspace.
Interesting.
Why is the description for one man upthread and you said he instead of them?
Dumb question, have they had any of those crowd control ‘exercises’ or unused fenced facilities in those parts?
Tinfoil hat off.
They are saying here one perp. Black male. Fled south on foot,
and there is a massive police presence searching for him.
beard on the black male perp.
Doubt it.
How many terrorists just target those in uniform while leaving the civilians be?
No this sounds a bit like maybe one of the cops was dirty or something or perhaps it was just really personal to the perp.
Apparently they were all Lakewood police officers (not sheriffs) and the police are now saying it’s NOT gang-related. I imagine they mean drug gang related.
So I’m leaning towards not-so-sudden black jihad syndrome. These cops were known to stop there every morning and their cars were parked out front.
One of the reasons Hasan shot military people is that the Muzzies have gotten a bad rep for targeting civilians, but when they shoot police or military, they claim they are engaging in “warfare.” IIRC, Obama actually advised them to do this.
OOOP! I meant “Osama” advised them to do this, not Obama.
Don’t dare think terrorists or you’ll be called a right wing extremist!
You may be correct but it just seems out of the ordinary, and too precise even with direction from Osama.
Not a dimes worth of difference between the two..Obama bin Laden.
It would seem the have the ID of the shooter. If not, how would they know that without first ID'ing the shooter?
Does the state have capital punishment?
