Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base by what officials believe was possibly carried out by an Army officer.
The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.
The shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.
The gunman used two handguns, Cone said. He wasn't sure if the shooter reloaded the weapons during the attack.
He already did!!! >>:-(
When he FINALLY announce it during his ‘shout outs’ to his flunkies earlier today. Now all we are seeing (even on FOX) is his response that this was “a horrific outburst of violence”...gag me...
I can’t wait to hear Hannity pinpoint exactly how long it took him to comment on the Fort Hood massacre after taking forever to give his ‘shout outs’.
I am so disgusted with this person in the white house!!!
Our military deserves better!! :*(
President Bush, I miss you so much sometimes, and this is one of those times!!! :*(
The real outrage is that a sicko like this managed to become a military shrink in the first place. Anybody dumb enough not to check out Islam sufficiently amd be repulsed has no business "counseling" anybody.
That was one of the most shocking interviews I have ever seen
Ok so if im a journalist im asking col terry lee if he reported the comments to his superiors.
The retired officer on TV just said in light of his history why was he sent from Walter Reed to Fort Hood? “What happened at Walter Reed?”
Interesting question, deserves an answer.
WHERE would he have received training to do that??? Upthread, I was told "US Army" -- how many soldiers can do that, with 2 handguns???
Thanks; I don’t know how I missed this thread....
These quotes from Major General Robert Scales (receiving info from “Fort Hood and from Washington”) in two separate interviews on Fox TV:
What I heard was, This was not the act of a crazy. This was a very deliberate act. It was very precise, execution-style, as one soldier told me-that this particular Army major went about his business with great precision. So it was not a random act of violence or apparently not a soldier being affect by something like post traumatic stress distress order. This was a deliberate act of execution.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
...Nor did it appear to be a terrorist franchise effort, like some Al Queda cell. It appears to be a localized attempt by this Army Major to cause as much damage as he could before he was eventually dispatched. It was execution style, done at close range, done very deliberately.
The other thing thats interesting is that he shot at least 44-50 rounds, and thats a lot of ammunition to come out of two pistols in such a short period of time.
In case you missed it, a former coworker of Hassan,
a retired colonel, spoke of his sympathy with the
shooter of the troops at the recruiting ctr in
Arkansas ... fergodssakes .. wouldn’t someone who
hear those remarks make note and tell a commanding
officer?
Also, that he got into verbal arguments with other
soldiers who have sons, daughters, friends, etc.
in Iraq and Afghanistan because he was strongly
opposed to our presence there.
The colonel believes there’s something else in the
background to this .. and thinks it was strange
that he got t’ferred from Walter Reed to Ft. Hood.
He also said he had orders to deploy and was
adamantly against it .. even trying to go thru
higher ups to get out of it.
The rotten sob .. never should’ve been in our military.
Could’ve done it for the free education, then realized
his hate for America was growing. Was also upset that
after 0 promised to bring the troops home, he wasn’t
doing it and ending the wars.
Yes, my husband asked why he was transfered. He viewed it as a demotion.
FNC now has a male cousin of the shooter on right now.
Definitely does not pass the smell test. I would think he wouldn’t have time to reload. Sounds to me that there has to be other shooters.
oh good...let’s bring a family member of the TERRORIST on... to plead his sorry case and create sympathy....
HE IS A GOOD AMERICAN??????
I did hear that interview on Fox. Before that I switched to CNN because I did not want to see Shep and they were talking about PTSD! Whaaaaaa? This killer had never been deployed as far as I know. I can't stand this!
I’m glad you understand.
PRECISELY for those to whom this brought personal tragedy, I hope and pray that all the rest of us WILL BE OUTRAGED.
I'm not so sure I'm too worried about that part of it. The President doesn't get instantly briefed on every shooting incident that happens everywhere around the country. That it took that first hour to put it together that this was turning out to be something big... doesn't really surprise me too much.
I am wondering why those soldiers didn’t take him down. It all seems wierd to me.
damn cousin....
“he was a good American”
“he tried everything reasonable”
oh— so now kill fellow soldiers?
Simple. Bush made these people angry, therefore they try to kill us.
The fact that these people were killing us before Bush, will elude people because the MSM won’t mention it.
