Sima Samar, women's rights activist in Afghanistan: "With dogged persistence and at great personal risk, she kept her schools and clinics open in Afghanistan even during the most repressive days of the Taliban regime, whose laws prohibited the education of girls past the age of eight. When the Taliban fell, Samar returned to Kabul and accepted the post of Minister for Women's Affairs."

Ingrid Betancourt: French-Colombian ex-hostage held for six years.

"Dr. Denis Mukwege: Doctor, founder and head of Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. He has dedicated his life to helping Congolese women and girls who are victims of gang rape and brutal sexual violence."

Handicap International and Cluster Munition Coalition: "These organizations are recognized for their consistently serious efforts to clean up cluster bombs, also known as land mines. Innocent civilians are regularly killed worldwide because the unseen bombs explode when stepped upon."

"Hu Jia, a human rights activist and an outspoken critic of the Chinese government, who was sentenced last year to a three-and-a-half-year prison term for 'inciting subversion of state power.'"

"Wei Jingsheng
, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China's communist system. He now lives in the United States."

He doesn’t deserve the Nobel Prize. He deserves the Order of Lenin!

She risked her life protecting Jews from the Nazis. Chances are, she’s one of God’s righthand ladies right now.

Yasser Arafat: the prestige of the award begins to lessen.
Al Gore: the reward is now garbage.
Barack Obama: the reward is being trucked to the nearest landfill.

That's just a partial list. Here is a story from the Bozeman Daily Chronicle on Greg Mortenson, founder of Pennies For Peace (the same organization President Bush encouraged elementary school children to help collect and donate pennies to).  Mortenson was nominated on January 7, 2009 by both Republican and Democrat members of Congress.  Representative Mary Bono Mack (R-CA) was his sponsor.

The people who were passed up for 0b0z0.

This should make your blood boil.

My blood never boils because of Communist shenanigans. It only boils because we allow it, so far.

The best quality of the people who were passed up is that none of them has any similarity to 0b0z0 or even close.

Each of them ACCOMPLISHED something. That is already an insult to 0b0z0 because he can’t even accomplish anything in his own mind. Say, a decision on Afghanistan?

0b0z0 got an “’ata boy” prize with many more promised if he tows the global Communism line, no more, no less.

Screw the No Bell Peace Prize.

I don't know why we make such a big deal out of it. It's clearly nothing more than a recognition of the winner's left-wing, anti-American, anti-freedom philosophy.

Just like The Pulitzer Prize, The Oscars, The Emmys.

The list is endless. Let it go.

LOL. That was easy. One down, two hundred ninety-nine million, nine hundred ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred ninety-nine to go.

This is the prize given to such fine folks as Yassir Arafat, Jimmy Carter, Paul Krugman, and Al Gore. It ought to be considered a communist/fascist badge of honor. It means nothing any more.

Also Greg Mortenson
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Mortenson

I am buying his book- if many of us did maybe he’d get and extra $1.4 million for his works (the amount of booty being given to the greedy obamas)

Gasp, heck! They were NOT happy about it.

Did you happen to notice the guy standing behind the announcer? He was twiddling his thumbs and on two occasions it was all he could to do to keep from bursting out laughing. Watch him.

We peons may not be able to change history on our own. (But maybe we will?) In any case, we need register the truth in forums like this for the historical record. Let it be knows that it is an abomination that this award goes to Obama, essentially for being an enthusiastically vocal leftist, instead of any these people listed here, who worked hard and/or suffered greatly for peace and freedom.

Wow..I can not believe Norway passed up these fine people to make themselves look like a bunch of desperate butt kissing bribe masters.

Why bother bribing some nobody when you can bribe what used to be known as the "Leader of the Free World."
