Sima Samar, women's rights activist in Afghanistan: "With dogged persistence and at great personal risk, she kept her schools and clinics open in Afghanistan even during the most repressive days of the Taliban regime, whose laws prohibited the education of girls past the age of eight. When the Taliban fell, Samar returned to Kabul and accepted the post of Minister for Women's Affairs."

Ingrid Betancourt: French-Colombian ex-hostage held for six years.

"Dr. Denis Mukwege: Doctor, founder and head of Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. He has dedicated his life to helping Congolese women and girls who are victims of gang rape and brutal sexual violence."

Handicap International and Cluster Munition Coalition: "These organizations are recognized for their consistently serious efforts to clean up cluster bombs, also known as land mines. Innocent civilians are regularly killed worldwide because the unseen bombs explode when stepped upon."

"Hu Jia, a human rights activist and an outspoken critic of the Chinese government, who was sentenced last year to a three-and-a-half-year prison term for 'inciting subversion of state power.'"

"Wei Jingsheng
, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China's communist system. He now lives in the United States."

“This act has devalued the award”

That supposes the award had any value in the first place. It didn't.
Chairman Arafat(Nobe Peace Prize Winner) says “Hello”.

I'm going to take some heat here, but no one on this list should have received the award.

Sima Samar has done very good work, but it did not bring peace anywhere, especially in Afghanistan.

Ingrid Betancourt is a marxist idiot who spent 6 years sitting in the jungle until she was rescued.

Dr. Denis Mukwege is doing laudable work, but once again where is the 'peace'.

Handicap International and Cluster Munition Coalition is cleaning up what is mostly a dictator mess left on the battlefields of the world. No 'peace' here just janitorial services.

Hu Jia and Wei Jingsheng are just two examples of the thousands of Chinese currently in prison in the PRC. Peace?

That brings us to the latest winner, FUBO...

On second thought, even the idiot marxist sitting in the jungle is more deserving.

Ingrid Betancourt? Please tell me how she advanced the cause of world peace. She had the bad luck to get herself abducted and by all accounts was no angel during the entire episode. She deserves the Prize about as much as Obama does. Less, even.

I refuse to believe the White House didn’t know this was coming. Expect some taxpayer-financed gift to head toward Norway soon.

This award was clearly pre-selected, with Obama's full knowledge. That's why his specious statement of surprise and humility rang so false and insincere. Only the Emporers' tailors in the media, and the stolid burghers who trust them believe he was surprised.

It should be increasingly clear by now that we are living in a "Matrix" world politically speaking. Everything is as programmed as Saudi money, international accommodation, and compliant media can make it.

My take is that this prize was debase long ago.

Take a look at a list of those who won it over the last 20years. There are very few who really deserve it.

found a "REAL Peace Prize Fund", that would honor actual heroes like the ones on this list

That would be fabulous. They could announce their winner the week after Nobel does its thing. It might actually shame them into some return to integrity. But probably not. Still, the contrast would be illuminating.

I heard they will award olympic medals prior to the actual events, to “encourage” the athletes. After all, real accomplishments don’t mean much. /sarc

And don't prevent a girl of age nine from getting married.

How can one possibly devalue an award that was given to Jimmy Carter for being stupid and Al Gore for writing a fantasy movie? I loved the cartoon posted on FR of Obama pulling the Medal out of a box of Cracker Jacks.

Disgraceful and shameful.

I’ve posted a link on my Facebook account, and I urge everyone to pass this far and wide. People need to know just who was bumped out so that Obama could be crowned King and Emperor.

Sickening.

That was my thought too. That little commie twit put her troubles on her own shoulders.

Let's see now, the prize includes $1.4 million and this would go into Obama's pocket while it will cost the tax payers about one million for he and his entourage to go over there to accept it.

“Irena Sendler never got a chance to be nominated again, as she died in 2008 and no Nobel Prize can be awarded to someone who is dead.”

Well, she has a better reward. More often than not, things like this are never really appreciated on Earth.

The Nobel Prize is not what it was and is now a cheap banquet joke.
When the Nobel Committee gave the award to Arafat that made it pretty much a coffee table award and nothing more.

words of appeasement.
+++++++++++++

Right. You know there are ways of honoring the office of the US Presidency, and the United States of America without bowing the knee to the bammy imposter messiah cult.

I like Pawlenty in some ways, but he blew it (again.) Wonder how many more chances he’ll have.

Actions matter most - but words are important.
