Obama is speaking before the VFW now. Except for a dozen people or so, they are sitting on their hands. Vets know who the real Obama is. Occasional applause for apple pie statements. For the most part, silence.
“how can Rahm think that is a good thing..”
Two teleprompters. If he had just tone, he’d stare glassily left or right without moving. At least with two, it gives the impression he’s looking at, or cares about, the audience. Or is watching pro-tennis from close up, or maybe beach volleyball.
Remember when he did a presser with a big-screen prompter out where the cameras were? It looked like he was staring fixedly at one audience member, until a zoomed-out shot revealed that the attention-point was a prompter.
Oh, please. His dad went to Berkeley for a year or so, never graduated.
Applause apparently coming from the 50 or so Obama officials in the front rows.

Pathetic.
I would turn my chair so he could look at my back!
When's he going to capture Osama?
It's effects are being typed up for dispersal by the State Controlled Useless Media (SCUM)at this very moment by those who are more attuned to discern the nuance of the stunned silence of the crowd and their thunderous thought waves of approval.
Last Veteran’s Day, I went to a gathering honoring my father. It was after the election, and the general sentiment was - “the people just voted for everything we sacrificed so much to defeat.”
” I would turn my chair so he could look at my back! “
Better to make him look 12,950 pretty serious people who ‘ain’t buyin’ it’ in the eye....
He'd be better off talking about the veterans of Tet, Khe Sanh, Hue and Tay Ninh province.
Some of the leadership did -- in fact, one of them was supposedly on Fox this AM, singing his praises.
But the audience was the membership -- big difference.
Instead of a laugh track for a sitcom it will be a clap track for the sit-commie.
MY new bill? He’s claiming this bill that he didn’t write and admittedly is unfamiliar with?
My mother applied for VA benefits available to her because of my father and the VA has predicted it will take A YEAR to process her simple claim - for which I provided all documentation requested. They’re “backlogged” and they say if you call to ask about it then it will just take longer.
Just the attitude we want making our health decisions.
Hey, that's a great idea. But better than spend the money to make it ourselves, how about we all just snag one from the hippy-dippy Code Pinkers who give them away, & just "edit" it ourselves. That way we kill two brds with one stone: we re-allocate some of George Soros' money for our own use & we get our own message across on his dime! ;-)
From the news desk of any SRM outlet:
Obama wows Vets speechless
Obama delivered his global-saving message of healthcare reform to former American terrorists, as they listened raptly in reverent silence....

Nice!
After talking with my dad he said the same thing ... the membership wasn’t in Obama’s camp just some of the leadership. I remember that photo with those VFW guys behind Obama when he was speaking .....
01:22 PMYahoo! (Summary of POTUS in Phoenix today)
"President Obama told veterans today that his administration is on course to end the war in Iraq, win the war in Afghanistan, and prepare the military for the challenges ahead.
"We will do right by our troops and taxpayers," Obama said in Phoenix to the convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. "And we will build the 21st Century military we need."
The president also pledged to improve and maintain health care for veterans. He did not discuss the ongoing health care debate at length, but told the VFW there has been "so much misinformation" about his proposals.
"One thing that reform won't change is veterans health care," Obama said, "No one is going to take away your benefits. That is the plain and simple truth." That includes new programs to improve electronic health records of veterans and reduce the number of homeless veterans.
In a speech devoted to military policy, Obama did not mention that reports that commanders may seek more troops to fight the Taliban along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. "Going forward, we will constantly adapt our tactics to stay ahead of the enemy and give our troops the tools and equipment they need to succeed."
He called victory in Afghanistan essential because "those who attacked America on 9/11 are plotting to do so again." He called it "a war of necessity," as opposed to a "war of choice," as he has described Iraq.
The U.S. will stick to its withdrawal plan in Iraq, Obama said. It will begin pulling out combat brigades later this year; all combat troops will be gone by the end of next August; all U.S. troops period will be out of Iraq by the end of 2011.
"And for America," Obama said, "the Iraq War will end." (No applause for this line from the veterans, by the way.)
As for the way forward, Obama pledged to reform the procurement process so that troops have the best equipment possible at the best cost to taxpayers.
In praising congressional efforts to rein in unnecessary Pentagon spending, Obama gave a shout-out to one of Arizon's favorite sons: Sen. John McCain, the man Obama defeated in last year's presidential election.
Obama did draw laughs with one example of military waste, a billion-dollar helicopter that would allow presidents to cook during a nuclear war.
"If the United States is under nuclear attack," Obama said, "the last thing on my mind will be whipping up a snack."

Oh, for contrast and comparison, if only Sarah had been invited and accepted (she does more than flap her lips, her first born is overseas in harm’s way).
I bet this is bruising Hussien’s massive ego!
OUCH!!
