[history]
MSNBC is having an on air meltdown over a man their camera crew videotaped openly carrying a handgun at an anti-Obama protest in Portsmouth, New Hampshire this morning near where Barack Obama will be holding a town hall meeting later today.
MSNBC showed footage of the man with the gun openly holstered to his right leg. He was holding a large sign with words about the tree of liberty.
The Portsmouth police chief informed MSNBC the man was legally armed.
The man was reportedly standing with a group of protesters on the property of a church.
More as this develops.

The man was exercising TWO of his constitutional rights, apparently MSNBC only approves of one of those rights. They really don't approve of his exercising of the other right as well, because his message isn't what they want to hear.

Black Panthers can carry shotguns and clubs to a polling place and nothing happens. Where was the outrage then?

If I were a betting man, I would say that the guy carrying a handgun to a protest probably doesn't make a living in marketing and advertising.

The sight of a gun on television could make Keith Olberman wet Chris Matthews’ bed.

I have to agree with you. Just because you have a right to do something doesn’t mean you don’t exercise that right with common sense. This was a stupid time to be displaying a gun.
To: kristinn
It's pushing the envelope, but legal.
We as conservatives recoil at pushing the limits. Perhaps it's time we pushed and pushed until the limits are more to our liking. Like, I don't know, following the constitution perhaps. What a radical idea.

Let me get this straight... SEIU union thugs ordered by Obama beat a blackman down in a parking lot and these people are bitching about people OBEYING NH law?
To: Boiling Pots
Maybe so, but the fact that carrying a weapon openly is legal does not mean it is a sensible thing to do. At this time sending the message conveyed by the firearm is not productive and helps the left in stereotyping our opposition as being right wing militia types. We have to know who the auduence is, and how our actions will be perceived. Right now momentum is on our side.Giving the opposition the chance to portray us through their prism is not helpful.

The man was exercising TWO of his constitutional rights, apparently MSNBC only approves of one of those rights. Actually, when it applies to conservatives, I don't believe they approve of us having either.
To: rjsimmon
Oh the horror! A citizen exercising two Constitutionally protected rights at the same time!!!
Would they report with the same zeal a liberal that could walk and chew gum simultaneously?
= = =
LOVE IT.

Obumer picked the wrong place to go in this type of political climate.I think they are using cow hampshire as a pr stunt though to exploit the conservatives.
