Free Republic - Numerous News Outlets ^ | 04/17/09 | Henchster

CONGRATULATIONS! We are now up to ALL 50 states plus D.C., 485 cities, and can document no less than 602,000 and as many as 680,000 patriots took place in the greatest grass roots act of defiance since 1773!

EVERY state in the Union protested Washington D.C.'s tax and spend scheme.

You can check to see if your tea party is listed HERE if not, post a comment on this thread citing the city, state and headcount.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

My favorite was a teabag looped over the ears of a life-sized cardboard figure of TOTUS in Union Station in DC.

AWESOME!!!

Richmond (Madison County), KY - 220 Tax deadline brings out thousands of protesters -- Someone from Kentucky might want to verify that this is not duplication. Came across it while looking for Texas tea parties.

Victoria, TX - 400+ More than 400 protest taxes and big government at Victoria's Texas TEA party

Kaufman, TX - 200 TEA Party about more than taxes

Rockport (Aransas County), TX - 100 County residents gather for own version of tea party

Friendswood (Tri-County), TX - 600+ TriCounty Tea Party This was the promoter's site and estimate - could not find media source to confirm.

At this pace, just with Texas cities, I will have us over 1,000,000!

Still looking for these Texas cities: Big Spring, Columbus, Eastland, Floresville, Jacksonville among many others that had scheduled events, but can't find numbers.

More to come...

There were a number of Chicago “suburban” Tea Parties that may not be listed—Joliet was reported to Have 300 as per Sun Times; Naperville probably had 300 or more—I am not good with eyeballing crowd estimates. Any other suburbanite care to chime in or correct the numbers...

Finally got the numbers from the local paper for

Viera FL 350-400

Cocoa Beach FL 200-250

Palm Bay FL 60-80

This will all be within the very large county of Brevard which has the largest number of over 1000 already listed in Melbourne.

Best I can get numbers and locations ( no freepers in these areas?).

The Biggest Brevard Tea Party is scheduled for Sunday the 19th at Wickham Park/CCCampus. It should be HUGE!

There were about 1000 people at the Tea Party in Rome, NY. That was my own estimate and the Observer Dispatch newspaper estimated 1000, too. It was held at Fort Stanwix.

Found a better citation for the Wisconsin Rapids, WI Tea Party:

http://www.wisconsinrapidstribune.com/article/20090416/WRT0101/904160641&referrer=FRONTPAGECAROUSEL

This is a staff article referencing "about 150" attendees. Thanks again!

Ocala, FL is reported as having 1000 attendees, but that was at the first of two rallies. The second rally had another 800, for a total of 1800. See the linked story from the Ocala Star Banner, a NY Times paper: “ http://www.ocala.com/article/20090416/ARTICLES/904161012

They are wrong about the number though the courthouse front is 30’-40’ in from the road and probably 500’ wide it was pretty packed with people down the side street too. They say 100 the TV news said 400?

We had more than 1000 in Columbus Indiana, it was more like 2000-2500, IMO.

Those are the local media’s numbers!

BTW does anyone else feel the timing of the release of the "torture" memos was a bit suspicious?

My feeling is the White House used the release of these memos to get the Tea Parties off the front page? Anyone else get the same vibe?

Bump Southlake, TX to 700 2nd local source - Residents voice ire with government

New Braunfels, TX - 300 Protesters fill Main Plaza for Tea Party

Plano, TX to "several hundred" TEA’d off demonstrators take to the streets I'm embarrassed I don't have numbers, I work just down the street from one of the Plano protests! Somebody help!!

There are still several cities in Texas who had events scheduled but not on the list. I have to end the work tonight. But if anyone has the time to Google for the following cities: Marble Falls held @ Lakeside park; Meridian (Bosque CO); Pearland, Port Lavaca, Rockwall, San Angelo, San Marcos, Seabrook, Sherman, Stephenville, Tomball, Uvalde and Victoria.

I am sure there are probably many more, but those were the ones on the calendar.

Hey, Hench. Long time, no "see." I attended three rallies, the Sacramento rally, the end of the Pleasanton rally, and the end of the San Jose rally.

Pleasanton, CA

And from the same article, you can adjust San Mateo (CA) higher end... And from the same article, here's Pittsburg/Antioch (CA)...
