The convention will be at the spectacular Gaylord Palms hotel and we've gotten a group rate of just $99/night on guest rooms. BTW, if anyone has FR tee shirts or caps for during the day, inside and outside.....wear them. It pays to advertise.

Conventioneers arriving afternoon on Friday can register, unpack, come down to the lobby or meet in the Sports Bar where we'll be having a very casual al fresco dinner starting at 7 PM.
We'll probably hang there afterwards, too. Poolside, surrounded by tropical trees, plants and flowers, a Bahama Mama with a slice of lime and a hanging monkey, an Angus cheeseburger de luxe........ah, paradise enow!
We can take side strolls to see the treats in the various nooks and crannies of this entertaining hotel, but always back to the Sports Bar throughout the evening.
This way, freeper arrivals through the late afternoon and evening will know where to find us.
During the entire convention, we'll always leave a message at the front desk where we are at all times.
Friends, you may want to change your registration to Friday AND Saturday nights. This is shaping up to be a two-night freeper bacchanal of fun, fellowship and freeptalk with plenty of hard-headed conservative business during our all-day Saturday meetings!

I’m so looking forward to this convention I’ve already put the GPS coordinates into my navigator, printed out the hotel map and agenda, and I’m 3/4 of the way packed....
I do wish my hubby could attend but work got in the way....yet, a weekend without him or the kids is sounding better and better...shuuuushhh don’t tell anyone!!

I have one additional attendee as of right now. I have invited several people to attend so if any others inform me they plan on making the trip, I will post it here.

BTW, for NFL fans this conference this weekend is the supreme sacrifice: this is NFL Draft weekend! ;-P

We have a convention attendee who has made a room reservation at the fabulous Gaylord Palms for Saturday night, April 25, and now will not be able to stay. This very gracious FReeper has offered to pay for the room anyway, minus any incidental charges accrued by the person that ends up staying in it.
If you have not already made a room reservation and/or were not planning to attend because the drive was too far and you didn’t want to pay for a room, this is your chance!
The room will go to the first person (who has not already made a reservation) to FReepmail MinuteGal my correct age. If a correct age is not guessed it will go to the person who gueses closest without going over.

I was the organizer of the very first Florida Freeper convention. It was so long ago I'm no even sure of the year - maybe '98.
That was also in Orlando, at the Marriott on Sand Lake Rd. I think we had about 25 attendees. A good time was had by all, as I'm sure will be even more the case this weekend. :)

The Admiral kindly suggested we drive over on Fri night to avoid a very early start Sat AM. She called the Gaylord and was still able to get the $99 rate! Anyone have a change of plans and maybe want to go? You can apparently still get in on the great deal. We'll see you late Friday evening!
Because there were no winners in the "Name that Prize Contest" there will be two door prizes awarded at the the end of the Saturday afternoon convention session.
They'll be given out right after The Duke opens the prize he won in the registration drawing.
We'll have one door prize for a lovely freeper-ette and one for a good-lookin' freeper guy.
You may go home with a nice memento from our Gathering of Patriots.

I'm so angry with Obammie the Commie I can hardly bear to watch TV for fear I'll have apoplexy. Let's all share our frustrations over soothing Mai-Tais in an incredible tropical forest setting under an enormous glass dome.
